"So you guys what?" Benjamin asked me. I sighed.
"We almost kissed. But, I had 3 glasses of wine and 2 glasses of scotch. It wasn't me." I said and then popped two tylenol in my mouth and swallowed them.
"Alcohol reveals the deep desires." He smiled at me and I shook my head.
"It does not. It makes you say stupid things and do stupid things. Look Ben, I don't feel like talking about her anymore." I grabbed a glass of water and walked over to the TV. Ben walked behind me and sat down on the love seat. "You know that's my chair, get up." I said not even looking at him.
I turned on the TV and grabbed the remote. By the time I turned around, he was out of my seat and laying across my couch. I sighed.
"So are you crashing here tonight? Or your just hanging out?" I asked.
"What? I can't spend quality time with my cousin?" He asked. I shook my head.
"Your drunk. Why would you drive over here?" I asked.
"Because this chick was being too clingy. She was at my house when I got there. She was waiting for me outside. That's the last time a bring a girl back to my place." He said and kicked off his shoes. I laughed.
"That's why you shouldn't mess around with girls like that." I looked over at him and he was taking off his suit jacket. I shook my head.
"Dude, there's a room upstairs!! Pick up your stuff. You know how I feel about that." I took a sip of water and looked back at the TV.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about your OCD." I clenched my jaw.
"I don't have OCD. I just like things in a specific place." He laughed.
"That's called OCD man."
"Actually, OCD is defined as-"
"I know what it is." He cut me off.
"Alright. I'm going upstairs." I said as I tossed him the remote.
"Make sure you turn everything off before you head upstairs." I said and started up the stairs. I walked straight into my room.
I put my glass of water on my nightstand. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and put it on the charger. I took off my shirt and took off my sweatpants. I climbed in my bed and laid down on my stomach. I sighed and thought about the events that happened tonight. Yeah, I had fun with Megan but I was drunk and I didn't know what I was doing.
That hallucination I had when I first saw her was merely wrong thinking on my part. She is a colleague and I shouldn't have thought about that situation. I rolled over and looked out the skylight right above my bed. I had it installed so I could look at the stars without moving from my bed. It always calmed me.
I slowly closed my eyes and drifted off to a deep sleep. The next day I woke up and I saw someone laying next to me. I furrowed my eye brows and looked at the female. She had tanned skin and long light brown hair. She stretched and rolled and smiled at me. "Hey babe, how did you sleep." I gasped.
"Maria?" I asked.
"Yeah silly, who else would it be." She rolled over and laid her head on my chest.
"I had the best time last night Jeffery." I clenched my jaw and moved from under her.
"Jeffery!?!" She smiled.
"I never loved you Alex. I just used you. That's exactly what Megan is doing. Then she will up and leave you for Jeffery. Just like I did."
I breathed in and I sat up in my bed. I looked over to the other side of my bed and no one was there. I sighed and flopped back down on my pillows. I rubbed my hand over my face and sighed. I hate having dreams.
