Megan Lewis

8:35pm

"How are you feeling Meg?" Anna asked me and she pulled me into a hug. I just sighed. Scared as hell.

"I'll be fine." I said and pulled back from the hug.

"So did you find a place for the next couple days while they get the apartment cleaned up?" Ben asked. I sighed.

"My friend David isn't answering the phone." I said pulling my phone out of my sweatpants.

"I would let you stay with me but James is at my place. I mean I can make him sleep on the couch and we can share the bed." She said and I shook my head.

"I have a loft. You can sleep in my bed and I can sleep on the couch." Ben offered. I shook my head.

"I don't wanna put you on your couch." I said and looked through my contacts.

"You can stay with me. I have an extra room so you wouldn't be putting me on the couch." Alex said from behind me. I raised my eyebrows.

"Really?" I asked. I was still surprised by his actions in the hallway. He smelled heavenly though so I couldn't help but put my arms around him.

"Yeah you can stay for however long it takes for your apartment to get back in order." Alex said with a soft expression. I've only seen this side of him when he is with his family.

"I don't want to intrude Alex." I said not to sure about staying with him.

"You won't be. I promise. You can stay." He said finalizing his answer by crossing his arms. I sighed.

"Alright. I guess I can stay with you. But only for a couple of nights." I said quickly. He nodded and then grabbed my bag from my hands.

"Alright, well I gotta get home. Let me know how your feeling in the morning." Anna said and hugged me again.

"Same thing here. I will be checking up on you two." He said with a sly smile. I rolled my eyes and nodded my head. He can't be serious in any situation. Anna and Ben left and Alex and I followed behind them. We all got off the elevator and said our goodbyes. Alex and I walked to his car and he opened the door for me.

He put my bag in the trunk and then got in the car. We rode in silence all the way to his house. It was kinda weird that I was going to be living with him for a couple days. I just found out how to act with him in the office, how the hell am I going to act at his house.

We pulled into his driveway and he opened the garage. His house was gigantic. Why would he need all this house for one person? I see him as more of a condo downtown, not a family home in the suburbs. He pulled into the garage and turned off the car. He got out and so did I. He grabbed my bag out of the trunk and he walked towards the door. He opened the door and let me walk in first. I walked into a hallway that had a laundry room on one side and a bathroom on the other. It looked like it was never used.

"You can leave your shoes over here." He said walking behind me. I took off my sneakers and put them up against the wall. He walked in front of me and I followed. We walked down the hall and it opened up to an area with a high ceiling and a big black leather sectional. Then there was a big black chair next to the sectional. There was a sandwich and a bag of chips sitting there.

"Are you hungry? Did you eat dinner yet?" He asked while walking to the kitchen. There was a huge island in the middle of it with stools pushed underneath it.

"Uhm, you don't have to make anything." I said still looking around.

"Megan, I know I'm your technically your boss and we work together, but you don't have to act like that. You've been through something traumatic tonight. Just relax." He said and I breathed in and out. I relaxed my shoulders and I just realized they were tensed up.
