I was standing in the mirror looking at myself. I decided to go casual for this dinner with Megan. I needed to get to know her, to see if she was really worth me opening up. If she was really worth my time. I decided to go with a brown leather jacket and blue jeans. I had a black shirt underneath and I pulled out my brown leather boots from my closet.
I walked downstairs and waited for her to get down there. I was sitting on the couch watching TV. Thirty minutes later I sighed and looked up the stair case. Megan hasn't made a sound upstairs.
"Megan!! Hurry up!" I yelled and sighed. This women is taking forever to get down here.
"I'm coming," I heard her yell faintly back. I wondered what she was going to wear because it didn't seem like she had many clothes to wear in that bag. I hear heels clacking on the hardwood stairs and I knew she was coming down. I turned off the TV and stood up. I went to the steps and I saw her walking down. She had on a tight black dress and scarlet red heels. Her lips were scarlet red as well. I smirked and watched her come down the stairs.
"Are you ready?" I asked. She grabbed her purse from the counter and nodded. I walked to the garage and opened the door for her. She walked out and I popped the locks on the car. She got in and I got in as well. I opened the garage with the opener in my car and I pulled out.
The car ride was silent. I really don't know what I thought was going to come out of this. I just wanted to get to know her a little better before I even think about planted my lips on hers. Wait, I mean, dating her. Right?
"Ugh," I said out loud and then realized I said it out loud.
"What's the matter?" She asked and looked at me for the first time all tonight. Those eyes man. It looks like she can see right through me. Maybe that's why I haven't tried to put up my strong guy facade with her. Because I think she can see right through it.
"Uhm nothing, I just, think I forgot something at home." I said trying to come up with something.
"It wasn't your wallet was it? Because I've been through this before and I'm not doing it again." She said and I laughed. I took a quick glance at her and she looked serious.
"Wow. I'm sorry." I said and I saw her look at me out of the corner of her eye.
"About what?" She asked.
"For actually having to deal with assholes like that. I would never," I finished and shook my head. She just looked at me and smiled.
We rode to the restaurant just listening to the radio. When we got there, I pulled up to the front and had the valet park the car. I put my arm out and Megan didn't stick her arm in.
"Co-workers remember?" She said with a smirk. I put my hands up in defeat and smiled at her. I opened the door for her and she walked in.
"Table for two?" The waitress asked. Megan nodded. "Right this way." She said and led us to a booth. Megan sat down and I sat down across from her. I smiled and she smiled too.
"So, what would you like to know?" She asked getting straight to the point.
"Slow down women, let's get a drink in front of us first." I said and asked the waitress for their finest wine. She looked at the waitress and asked for a water. I raised an eyebrow.
"Not drinking tonight?" I asked. She shook her head.
"I have to work tomorrow morning. Wouldn't want a hangover." She said as the waitress walked away. I nodded my head. She was being formal with me. I don't like this.
