Megan Lewis

9:15 pm

It was really late and Alex and I were still in the conference room. We had everything from portfolios to spec sheets spread out all across the table. Everything was so confusing and I couldn't think straight. I sighed.

"Alright so, what were we talking about?" I asked. Alex smacked his lips and shook his head.

"What is wrong with you? You aren't focused at all. Snap out of it!" He said while raising his voice. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Yelling won't help! Why don't you try being a little nice and try and help me out!" I crossed my arms and sat down in the chair.

"Be nice? You're a big girl, you can handle this. It's the job you love so much, remember?" He said in a snide tone. I rolled my eyes.

"I knew that's what this was about!! I already told you how I felt about it. Can you not act like a child? This trip is really important Alexander." He tensed up.

"I can't believe this. Smusso cazzo che questo. non si vede che cosa è proprio di fronte a voi." He spat in Italian. I hate when he does that!

"Oh, so your going to say shit in Italian so I don't understand it?" He scoffed and shook his head. "What did you say?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.

"I said I can't fucking believe this! You don't see what's right in front of you!" He stood up and was about to walk out of the door.

"Don't walk out! You always walk out! Face your problems!" I stood up from my chair. This shouting match was starting to give me a headache. He stopped at the door and turned around. He stalked over to me and I stepped back and fell into the chair. He put his hand on the back of the chair and it leaned back a little. He put his face inches in front of mine.

"Fine, I'm facing my problem." He just stared at me and then his eyes fell to my lips. I knew he wanted too because I wanted to do the same. But he wasn't moving. He pulled back and just looked at me. I sighed and averted my eyes from his. "Let's get back to work. We have a lot of stuff to get done." He walked around the table and went back to what he was doing. I looked back at my work and tried to focus but I couldn't. The tension was way to thick. I stood up and walked out of the room.

Nobody else was in the building besides the cleaning crew. I went to the break room and I saw and older man mopping up.

"I'm sorry, I will come back." He shook his head.

"It's fine. You can come on in." I walked into the break room and realized I didn't bring any money. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Need some change?" The older man asked.

"No, it's okay. I can just run back to my desk." He shook his head and pulled some change out of his pocket.

"Get what ever you need. I'm Mike by the way."

"Thank you. I'm Megan." He raised his eyebrows.

"Oh, so you're the famous Megan." I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Famous?"

"Well, you are the only women working on this remodel for the store. You're pretty famous." I smiled and shook my head.

"It's not all it's cracked up to be." He nodded.

"Alex, is a special breed. He isn't always open with many people. But, he is such a caring man. He treats me as if I'm his own family." I smiled and nodded my head.
