I woke up and started to get ready. Today is the day! The day that we go to Milan! I got out of the shower and went and got dressed. I decided to go with a comfortable pair of black jeans and a burgundy blazer for today. I wanted to be comfortable for travel but still look professional.
I put on a white shirt underneath it and put on the jacket and slicked my hair back into a ponytail and I put my glasses on. I grabbed my suitcase from the side of my bed and drug it to the door. The door swung open and it bumped me and I almost fell over. Alex peaked his head in and laughed a little.
"Whoops, I'm sorry. Need help with your bag?" He asked. I shook my head.
"I got it. Thanks for asking though." I said as I pulled the suitcase from behind the door. He moved closer to me and I paused a bit. He grabbed my bag from me with a small smile on his face.
"I'll take it for you. You got something in the mail. Ben brought it over for you." He handed me the stack of envelopes that was in his hands and I saw another red envelope. My eyes got wide and I shook my head. Alex furrowed his eyebrows.
"Thanks." I went for the red one and looked at the address. I pulled it out and threw that one aside. I put the other mail in my bag and zipped it up.
"Why aren't you reading the red one?" He asked. I shook my head.
"It's my uhm," I looked down, "it's from a certain someone that I don't want to name." He shook his head.
"Jeffery?" He asked with an eyebrow raised. I laughed and shook my head.
"No, not him. It's from my dad." He nodded and then looked away from me.
"You never talk about your family." He stated and I nodded.
"Because there isn't much to talk about." He nodded and picked up another bag to take downstairs.
"Well, whenever it becomes something to talk about, I'm here to listen." He walked off with the bags and I had a small smile on my face. He can be really sweet when he wants to be. I grabbed the red envelope and slipped it in my bag. I walked out of the room and went downstairs. Alex had all the suitcases by the door and ready to go.
"Do you wanna stop and get breakfast?" He asked. I shook my head.
"I can just get something from the café." He nodded and started taking the bags out through the front door. Why is he being so nice to me? He came back in and then started to take some more stuff out. "Hey Alex," I said and he turned around.
"What's up?"
"Why ..." I stopped and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"Why what?" He asked. I shook my head.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" He just smiled.
"Because being mean and angry won't change anything." He walked back out of the front door. I shook my head with a smile on my face. I grabbed my purse and walked out of the door. There was a cab sitting at the edge of his driveway. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him.
"Who's this for?" I asked.
"You. I figured you didn't wanna leave your car downtown for almost a week so I called you a cab." He opened the door and I smiled. I got in and he closed it for me. I rolled down the window.
"Aren't you going to get in?" I asked. He just smiled and shook his head.
"Nope, Henry is going to pick me up." I furrowed my eyebrows.
