"What?" Ayako murmured, scrolling through her phone at the news article she was reading. "(Y/N), look at this."
(Y/N) grunted in mild irritation when being pulled from the lunch that she had been eating, muffling a slew of grumbles as she tried to swallow the vegetables that she was in the middle of chewing, muttering, "What is it? What's so important that you almost made me choke?"
"Look," she pointed out, scrolling back up. "L is stating a mandate that all schools will be swept to try and find Kira."
(Y/N)'s expression flattened.
What?
"Let me see that," she spoke as she grabbed the phone from Ayako's outstretched hand, her eye visibly twitching when reading the article.

This information was released on May 20, 2015, and parents have been frantic asking their kids on information about who, if any of their classmates, are Kira. So far there have been no leads, and L has issued a mandate that the Japanese police will be investigating schools over the course of the year. If Kira's successor is reading this and they are, in fact, a student, you will be found and caught, L will see to that once more.

Narrowing her eyes, (Y/N) cursed under her breath as she handed the phone back to Ayako.
Edu chuckled behind her.
"I know, crazy right?" Ayako murmured, flicking her gaze around the courtyard and already able to see many feeling the same type of apprehension as she was. "It's almost eerie how Kira could be among us even closer than we originally thought."
(Y/N) wanted to smirk.
Oh, Ayako...
You have no idea.
"It is eerie," she instead proclaimed as she smoothened out her frustrated expression. "But this is L we're talking about. He'll find Kira's successor, I have no doubt."
If he finds me, he'll be dead.
"Yeah," Ayako piped up, cheering up quite easily be her words. "You're right!"
"Of course I am."
Ayako chuckled at that before starting to talk about whatever but of news-worthy gossip had caught her attention, completely missing the rather irritated scowl that somewhat graced (Y/N)'s lips whenever she looked away for a single moment. (Y/N)'s attention was then divided when Edu started to speak, his raspy voice grating in her ear. Fed up at that point, she then waved Ayako goodbye, saying she was going to class early.
"This is certainly getting interesting," Edu commented as he stalked beside her to her classroom, her steps echoing across the tile in a crescendo with other students. "Who knew L would be able to track you down so easily?"
"He didn't track me down," (Y/N) whispered back harshly whilst sitting down at a pew.
"How do you explain that article, then?"
"L merely is taking what happened with the previous Kira into consideration since he, too, was a student," she scowled. "He has no evidence to base this theory on, I've ensured that."
"Doesn't seem like it to me," Edu cackled, finding the sharp glare that was sent his way thoroughly amusing, however didn't cross the already threadbare line.
(Y/N) let her gaze fall.
Hm...
Edu may be right.
Because of that Death Note he has in his possession, L can see right through anything that I might do to throw him off.
This isn't looking good for me.

I need to calm myself.
Breathing in deeply and closing her eyes, (Y/N) allowed her tense muscles to relax and her heartbeat to slow from the anxious rhythm that it had started beating to, letting her lips curl upward when the action worked perfectly.
Emotion is exactly what got Kira caught and killed.
That is why I must quell it.
Now, the most obvious course of action anyone would take would be for the killings to continue while L observed Japan's students... or for them to be contained to one time.
Let's just stop them all together.
"Seems like you have a plan," Edu pointed out when noticing the look on her face, the growing smirk that plastered itself over the lower half of her face an obvious indicator of truth to his statement. "And by the looks of it, it's quite a good one."
"It is," she smiled up at him, the look making even him take a half step back from how innocently dangerous it looked.
This will be intriguing, L.
I wonder what you'll think when the killings stop all together?
You might think it's a stupid move on my part, but hey, it's worth it if it'll confuse you for even the tiniest of a second.
Shutting down the thoughts that would interrupt her focus on class, she wasn't surprised when the teacher approached the podium with a rather disappointed and fearful look on his face, something she wasn't sure which overdid the other.
"Class," he announced, clearing his throat and loosening his tie ever so slightly before resuming speaking. "As I'm sure you are all aware of, L has just announced a full sweep of the high schools and colleges of the Kanto region in search of Kira. In a brief pause, the room was so silent no one could hear anything save for the ticking of the clock before he continued, "What the school board has asked me to say is this: if you are Kira, please give yourself up for the safety of yourself, and others. It is the right thing to do."
Having been tapping her finger against the table, (Y/N) stopped the motion.
