__________________________________Humming to herself indistinctly whilst strolling along on the sidewalk, (Y/N) merely looked like an innocent college student that was merely very happy that day, those around her completely unaware of the brutal murder that she had committed only a few minutes ago. When she was sure no one was tailing her, commanding Edu to scout ahead and such, she resumed her usual life before the notebook was ever a reality. Killing with only the stroke of a pen was pleasing, yes, but murdering people herself was always much better and more thrill-inducing in her opinion.
She needed that thrill again.
Becoming involved as Kira's Successor within L's game was stressful, especially when she felt eyes on her nearly at all times.
It was annoying.
A feeling that she all but hated.
"I wonder what L thinks of me right now?" She mused to Edu who was limping beside her.
"Huh?" He grunted, shifting his red gaze from the sidewalk and people flowing around him to her. "Why would that be important to know?"
"It's not that it's important, I just want to know," she gave a rather disinterested shrug. "Seeing where I stand with him would be... useful."
"Yeah, I'm sure it would also be useful to him to see you talking to yourself," the God cackled to himself in amusement. "Then he'd know that instead of being Kira, you're just crazy."
"Asshole," she breathed under her breath.
"You do know I can hear you, right?" Edu spoke. "Just because you're the holder of one of my notebook's doesn't mean that I won't hesitate to kill you whenever you irritate me enough."
"Oh, I know," she smiled up at him, her hands now resting casually in her pockets. "You've threatened me with that a multitude of times. But I know you won't actually kill me. I mean, then where would you get your entertainment from, Edu?"
"Tch," he clacked his bone jaw together. "I can always find someone else."
"There's no one out there like me."
"Kind of cocky now, aren't we?" He laughed once more, tapping his club on the ground in front of her. "I'm thinking that all of this has gone to your head."
As she gave a short burst of quiet laughter to herself, she apologized when accidentally brushing the shoulder of a boy that was walking opposite from where she was going, not noticing him stop immediately and turn his head back to look after her. His green eyes filled with an unknown emotion, however the smirk fully visible on his lips as he continued on his way.
Her conversation with Edu fell silent as she scanned the crowd. Being within Hadano City of the Kanagawa Ward so as not to have any police on her tail, she was in unfamiliar territory, and was surprised when that bit of information contrasted with two familiar faces: Sachiko and Sayu Yagami, mother and sister of the late Light Yagami. After thoroughly researching Light Yagami on an encrypted device, she had seen the pictures of the two women, and to now see them again, she was slightly surprised.
It's likely they moved to protect themselves.
That, and to forget.
Watching the two women walk down the street, their eyes shifting warily each time they passed someone, it was clear to (Y/N) that their trust for anyone but themselves has diminished greatly. Despite Light's identity as Kira never being revealed, she could see that they were still fearful. If even their own family could commit such crimes as Light did, it wouldn't take a genius to understand the way they regarded everyone with suspicion.
How pitiable.
Clicking her tongue as she shook her head in disappointment, she then turned her gaze away.
They just don't understand the good Light Yagami was doing and what he was trying to achieve.
"What was that about?" Edu chuckled, noticing her intense stare at the two. "Are they old friends of yours or something?"
"No..." (Y/N! murmured, glancing back one last time before fully making herself move forward away from the women and away from the middle of the city towards the train station. "Just people that are familiar... nothing more though."
"Yagami... huh?" Edu observed, his gaze directed just above their heads. "So... they're relatives of Light Yagami, I'm guessing."
"How correct you are," she smirked. "Unusual that you are, but are nonetheless.
"Bitch."
"Dick."
The two continued forward as (Y/N) paid for a ticket and pushed through the checkpoints, finally standing just a few feet away from the tracks that produced sounds such as creaks and groans, the shrill shriek of the train alerting the loiterers that the locomotive was soon approaching. The doors of one of the many coach's slid open to let people roam both on and off, she a part of the latter crowd who squeezed in to try and obtain a seat, some graciously standing to let the more elderly sit down when needed. As the train traveled to Yokohama, she having to then take another train to fully reach Tokyo and then to home, her mind was consumed by the now reduced Yagami family.
I wonder how they felt when it was revealed Light was Kira, and when it was revealed he killed.
I wonder...
How did they feel knowing he was the cause of Soichiro Yagami's death?
Smiling viciously to herself, she then quickly made work of the slip in her pleasant mask that she put on for others. She wanted them to feel at ease with her. It always made her laugh when such people who fell for her facade always soon had their relief turn into terror. Just like how it was with Light and how he played the game of life and death. In almost two and half hours, the cover of darkness finally descending over her and Edu, she finally arrived home, taking off her shoes before entering the house and announcing her arrival. Entering the kitchen to grab two apples—one for her and one for the Shinigami—she then stopped immediately when spotting her mother and another man in the room.
"Oh, welcome home, dear," Mio gave her a weary smile as she gestured to the person next to her. "This man here says he's part of the police force working to catch Kira."
"That's right," he said, walking forward and flashing a badge with no name. "I am Agent Gevanni, and I have a few questions for you."
