Lady Lyster darted as quickly as she could muster without stumbling over her gown. People shifted aside and gaped as she raced past everyone before reaching two enormous doors where she was informed the King was in discussion with his council.
The guards attempted to halt her, but she crouched past them and burst into the room. The gazes of the many men and Henry were on her before the guards clutched her by the arms and attempted to haul her out of the room.
"Your Majesty! I come bearing you important news!" Lyster exclaimed, trying to free herself from the guard's tight grasp. Part of the council was Edward and Thomas Seymour and she pleaded with them.
Thankfully, Henry shooed them away. "Out with it, Lady Lyster." Henry yelped, clearly irritated by her interruption.
Bowing, she replied. "My Mistress, Queen Jane Seymour has gone into labour this morning, Your Majesty."
Henry's cold demeanour changed to shock as congratulations were given and he was patted on the back by the Duke Of Suffolk.
"What?! But she's early! The baby isn't due until November!!!"
"I'm aware, My King. The physician says it may be early, but there's no guarantee both Mother and child will survive."
Nodding, Henry pointed to the door. "When you can, Lady Lyster. Tell the physician if my Wife doesn't make it, he will join her!"
"Yes, your Majesty." Lyster nods as she quickly leaves the room, everyone is now anxious as they await the birth of Edward's brother and England's future Duke Of York.
