Y/N had always prided herself on being meticulous and thorough in her work, but ever since she joined Tomioka Industries, she found herself pushing these qualities to the extreme. The conversation with Haruto had left her with more questions than answers, and despite his reassurances, her instincts screamed that something was wrong. She couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a dangerous undercurrent flowing just beneath the surface of the company, hidden from plain view but powerful enough to pull her under if she wasn’t careful.

Haruto, as always, was there to lend a hand. He had become a constant presence in her life at the office—friendly, reliable, and always willing to help her navigate the complex web of responsibilities she was now entangled in. His support was invaluable, especially as Y/N began to dig deeper into the company’s files, searching for anything that might confirm her suspicions.

It began innocently enough. Haruto would stop by her desk with a smile, offering to assist with any tasks that seemed overwhelming. His easygoing demeanour made it difficult for Y/N to refuse, and before long, he was a regular fixture by her side, helping her sift through documents and organize the myriad of files that cluttered her workspace. At first, she had been hesitant to involve him in her search for answers, unsure of how much she could trust even him. But Haruto had a way of putting her at ease, of making her feel like she wasn’t alone in this.

"Thanks for all your help, Haruto," Y/N said one afternoon as they worked side by side, sorting through a particularly large stack of financial reports. "I’m not sure how I’d manage without you."

Haruto chuckled, waving off her gratitude. "It’s no problem at all. I know things can be overwhelming here, especially with how… secretive everyone tends to be. Just think of me as your guide through this corporate labyrinth."

His words were lighthearted, but there was a seriousness in his eyes that Y/N couldn’t ignore. It was as if he understood exactly what she was going through—the confusion, the frustration, the gnawing feeling that something was being kept from her. She wondered, not for the first time, if Haruto was aware of more than he was letting on.

As they continued to work, Y/N decided to test the waters. "Have you ever wondered about some of the things that go on here?" she asked, her tone casual as she flipped through a report. "Like those late-night shipments or the encrypted files? Doesn’t it all seem a bit… unusual?"

Haruto paused for a moment, his eyes flicking over to her before he resumed his task. "Sure, I’ve wondered. But in a company this big, there are bound to be things that don’t make sense at first glance. It’s all part of the business, you know? Sometimes it’s better not to get too caught up in the details."

Y/N nodded slowly, though she wasn’t entirely satisfied with his answer. Haruto’s response was perfectly reasonable—too reasonable, almost as if he had rehearsed it. But she knew she couldn’t push too hard, not yet. If she was going to uncover the truth, she needed to be patient and strategic.

Over the next few days, Y/N made a point of involving Haruto in her work whenever possible. He was more than happy to oblige, offering insights and advice that made her job easier. Together, they tackled everything from financial audits to inventory records, all the while growing closer as colleagues. But as they dug deeper into the company’s files, Y/N began to notice something unsettling.

It started with a series of invoices that seemed out of place. The amounts were unusually large, even for a company as successful as Tomioka Industries, and the descriptions of the goods being purchased were vague at best. "Security equipment" was a term that appeared frequently, but the quantities were far beyond what any normal business would need. Y/N couldn’t help but recall the manifest she had seen earlier—firearms, tactical gear, surveillance tools. The connection was too strong to ignore.
