The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows across the sleek glass windows of the company headquarters. Inside, the atmosphere was tense, like the calm before a storm. Giyuu Tomioka, the stoic leader of the organisation, sat at his desk, his mind racing with thoughts that refused to settle. The recent events had stirred something deep within him, a sense of unease that he couldn't shake off.

The first sign of trouble had been subtle, almost imperceptible. Documents missing, security clearances tampered with, operations that had been compromised at the last minute. It was as if someone within the company was working against them, feeding information to their rivals. The thought of a mole lurking among them gnawed at Giyuu's mind, refusing to let go.

He had always been meticulous, ensuring that every aspect of the company was tightly controlled, but now cracks were beginning to show. His trust, carefully placed in a select few, was starting to waver. The possibility of betrayal was a bitter pill to swallow, but Giyuu knew better than to ignore the signs.

He glanced at the empty seat across from him, a pang of worry tugging at his chest. Y/N hadn't shown up to work that day, nor had she been in touch. At first, Giyuu had assumed she was taking a much-needed break after their intense training sessions, or perhaps she had fallen ill. It wasn't like her to disappear without a word, but he had forced himself to be patient, reminding himself that she was more than capable of handling herself.

But as the hours dragged on, his concern grew. He had tried calling her, but there was no response. Her phone went straight to voicemail, and the uneasy feeling in his gut worsened. Giyuu leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on the phone, willing it to ring with news of her whereabouts.

Yet, deep down, he knew that something was wrong.

His thoughts were interrupted by a sharp knock on the door. Giyuu straightened, his expression hardening as he called out, "Come in."

The door opened to reveal Haruto, his face lined with concern. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him, and Giyuu noticed the way his eyes flickered around the room before settling on him.

"Giyuu," Haruto began, his voice steady but lacking its usual warmth, "I wanted to discuss some security measures with you. Given the recent breaches, I think it's time we reassess our protocols."

Giyuu nodded, gesturing for him to take a seat. "I've been thinking the same. There's something going on that we're not seeing. A mole, perhaps."

Haruto's expression tightened, and he leaned forward, his hands clasped together. "I've had the same suspicion. It's the only explanation for how our rivals have been so consistently one step ahead."

Giyuu studied Haruto's face, searching for any sign of deceit, but found none. Haruto had been with him for years, his right-hand man, someone he had trusted implicitly. But now, that trust was fraying, and Giyuu couldn't afford to overlook any possibility.

"I've already started making changes," Giyuu said, his voice firm. "I've doubled the security on all sensitive operations, restricted access to high-level clearances, and I'm reassigning some personnel. We need to root out the traitor before they do any more damage."

Haruto nodded in agreement, though there was a subtle tension in his posture. "That's a wise move. We can't be too careful. But there's something else I've been thinking about—Y/N's absence. It's unusual, don't you think?"

Giyuu's gaze sharpened at the mention of Y/N's name. "It is," he admitted, his voice tinged with concern. "I've been trying to reach her, but she's not answering her phone. I assumed she was taking some time off, but now... I'm not so sure."

A flicker of something unreadable passed through Haruto's eyes, but it was gone before Giyuu could decipher it. "Perhaps we should send someone to check on her," Haruto suggested. "Just to make sure everything is all right."

Giyuu considered the idea, his mind racing with possibilities. If Y/N was in trouble, he needed to know—needed to act. But he also knew that drawing too much attention to her absence could raise alarms, especially if the mole was aware of her importance to him.

"I'll handle it," Giyuu decided, his tone leaving no room for argument. "I'll have someone discreetly check on her, but we'll keep it under wraps for now. If she's in trouble, we can't afford to tip our hand."

Haruto nodded, though Giyuu couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. There was a distance between them now, a growing gap that Giyuu couldn't ignore. He couldn't afford to let his guard down—not now, when the stakes were higher than ever.

"Understood," Haruto replied, his tone even. "I'll continue working on the security protocols and report back with any findings."

Giyuu watched him leave, his mind churning with thoughts of Y/N. Her absence gnawed at him, a persistent worry that he couldn't shake. He knew she was capable, strong, and resourceful, but the silence—the lack of any sign from her—was unsettling.

As the hours passed, Giyuu threw himself into his work, reviewing security measures, analysing reports, and strategising ways to strengthen the company's defences. But his mind kept drifting back to Y/N, and the nagging suspicion that something was terribly wrong.

Late in the evening, as the office began to empty, Giyuu's phone buzzed with a message. He snatched it up, hoping for news of Y/N, but it was only a report from one of his operatives—no sign of her at her flat, no indication of where she might have gone.

The unease in his chest deepened, and Giyuu's thoughts turned dark. If Y/N had been taken—if their rivals had managed to get to her—then they were facing a far greater threat than he had anticipated. But there had been no demands, no ransom, nothing that indicated she was in immediate danger. It was as if she had simply vanished.

Giyuu paced his office, the tension building with each step. He needed answers, but the more he tried to find them, the more elusive they became. His trust in Haruto wavered, but without concrete evidence, he couldn't act on mere suspicion.

The night wore on, and Giyuu found himself staring out the window, the city lights flickering in the distance. His thoughts were a whirlwind of worry and doubt, his usually sharp instincts clouded by the unknown. The company he had built, the people he had surrounded himself with—everything seemed fragile now, teetering on the edge of collapse.

And then there was Y/N.

Giyuu's hands clenched at his sides, a surge of anger and frustration coursing through him. He had promised to protect her, had brought her into his world knowing the risks, and now she was missing—possibly in the hands of his enemies.

He couldn't afford to wait any longer.

Giyuu made a decision. He would escalate the search for Y/N, but he would do it quietly, without alerting anyone who might be involved in her disappearance. He would use every resource at his disposal, every contact, every favour owed to him, to find her.

But he had to be careful. The mole—whoever they were—was still out there, watching, waiting for him to make a mistake. And Giyuu couldn't afford any mistakes, not when Y/N's life was on the line.

As the night deepened, Giyuu began to plan his next move. He would find Y/N, he would expose the traitor, and he would ensure that his enemies paid for their audacity. He had come too far, sacrificed too much, to let everything fall apart now.

But even as he plotted his course of action, a shadow of doubt lingered in the back of his mind. Haruto's demeanour, the subtle changes in his behaviour—were they signs of guilt, or was Giyuu simply seeing what he feared most?

He didn't know, and that uncertainty gnawed at him, leaving him restless and on edge. But one thing was clear: he couldn't trust anyone completely, not until Y/N was found, and the traitor was brought to light.

With a grim determination, Giyuu prepared for the days ahead, knowing that the storm was coming, and when it hit, there would be no turning back.
