The text message came through late at night, just as Y/N was about to turn in for the evening. She blinked at the screen, a mix of confusion and unease settling in her chest.
Meet me at the office tonight. 11 PM sharp. – G.T.
Y/N stared at the message, feeling a knot of anxiety form in her stomach. What could Giyuu possibly want at this hour? The past few days had been tense enough with the heightened security measures and the unsettling atmosphere in the office. And now this—something about it felt ominous.
But she knew better than to ignore Giyuu's summons. Despite the growing unease, Y/N quickly got dressed and headed to the office, her mind racing with possibilities. What was this about? Was there a new threat? Was she in danger?
When she arrived, the building was eerily quiet, the usual bustle of activity absent in the late hours. Only a few lights were on, casting long shadows across the empty hallways. As she approached Giyuu's office, she felt a strange mix of dread and anticipation. The stakes had never been higher.
Giyuu was waiting for her in the office, his expression serious as he looked up from a file he was reviewing. He didn't greet her with his usual formality, instead motioning for her to sit down immediately.
"Thank you for coming on such short notice, Y/N," Giyuu began, his voice low and measured. "I realise it's late, but this is important. I need to prepare you for what's coming."
Y/N felt a chill run down her spine at his words. "What do you mean? Prepare me for what?"
Giyuu leaned back in his chair, his gaze intense as he studied her. "The threats we're facing are growing, and I can't afford to have you unprepared. If things go south, I need to know you can defend yourself."
Her eyes widened as the implications of his words sank in. "You want me to... train? For combat?"
Giyuu nodded. "Yes. Starting tonight, you'll begin training for a potential emergency. You'll learn how to handle firearms, engage in close combat, and even learn sniping techniques. I'm not going to sugar coat it, Y/N. The situation we're in is dangerous, and I need to know you can handle yourself if the worst happens."
Y/N's heart raced as she processed what he was saying. She had never imagined she'd be thrust into such a situation, let alone receive combat training. But the gravity of Giyuu's words left no room for doubt—this was real, and she needed to be ready.
"I'll do whatever it takes," she said, her voice steady despite the fear gnawing at her insides.
Giyuu nodded, a hint of approval in his gaze. "Good. Let's get started."
The training began that very night, with Giyuu leading Y/N down to a hidden underground facility beneath the office building. The stark, sterile environment only heightened the seriousness of what was to come. The facility was equipped with state-of-the-art equipment: shooting ranges, combat mats, and sniping platforms. Y/N couldn't help but feel a pang of anxiety as she took it all in.
Giyuu handed her a handgun, his expression unreadable. "We'll start with basic shooting practice. Focus on your aim, and don't worry about speed for now. Accuracy is what matters."
Y/N took the gun hesitantly, the weight of it foreign and unsettling in her hand. She had never fired a weapon before, but Giyuu's calm demeanour somehow reassured her. He stood close by, watching her every move as she raised the gun and aimed at the target down the range.
"Take a deep breath, Y/N. Don't rush it," Giyuu instructed, his voice steady.
She did as he said, inhaling deeply before pulling the trigger. The recoil startled her, and her first shot went wide, missing the target entirely. Y/N felt a flush of embarrassment rising in her cheeks, but Giyuu remained patient.
