The sun had barely risen when Y/N sat at her desk, the small locked box Giyuu had given her the previous day still unopened. She had spent the night wrestling with her thoughts, unable to shake the gnawing feeling that something sinister lay inside. Now, in the quiet stillness of the early morning, she knew she could wait no longer. Her curiosity had become unbearable, and she needed answers.

Y/N’s hands trembled as she carefully picked the lock on the box. She had never done anything like this before, but desperation drove her forward. After what felt like an eternity, the lock clicked open, and she slowly lifted the lid.

Inside, Y/N found a stack of documents, each one more damning than the last. Blueprints for advanced weaponry, lists of materials for arms manufacturing, and transaction records with suppliers known for their dealings in illegal arms. The reality of Tomioka Industries’ true business hit her like a ton of bricks. This wasn’t just a company with questionable ethics; it was a front for a massive illegal operation.

She couldn’t believe that Giyuu, the stoic and enigmatic man who had entrusted her with this project, was at the centre of something so dangerous. The man she had been slowly, reluctantly, growing close to was not just the CEO of a powerful corporation; he was involved in a web of deceit and corruption that threatened to consume them both.

Y/N’s mind raced as she considered her options. Should she confront Giyuu with what she had found? Or should she walk away, pretend she never saw these documents, and try to salvage what little peace of mind she had left? But the thought of walking away felt impossible—she was already in too deep. And yet, the idea of facing Giyuu with this knowledge filled her with dread.

As if summoned by her thoughts, her phone buzzed on the desk, the screen lighting up with a message from Giyuu: Meet me in my office. We need to talk.

Y/N’s heart lurched. He knew. Somehow, he knew what she had found. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the confrontation that was about to unfold. There was no turning back now.

When she entered Giyuu’s office, the atmosphere was heavy with tension. The room was dimly lit, the blinds drawn to shut out the last rays of the evening sun. Giyuu stood by the window, his back to her, his silhouette outlined against the faint glow of the city lights outside. His posture was rigid, as if bracing himself for what was to come.

“Mr. Tomioka,” Y/N began, her voice steadier than she felt. “I found something… something I think we need to discuss.”

Giyuu turned slowly to face her, his expression unreadable. He said nothing, waiting for her to continue.

Y/N swallowed hard, forcing herself to meet his gaze. “The project you assigned me to… it involves illegal arms manufacturing, doesn’t it?”

For a long moment, there was only silence. Y/N could feel the weight of Giyuu’s gaze, piercing and unyielding, as if he were searching her soul for any sign of weakness. Then, with a sigh that seemed to carry the weight of the world, Giyuu nodded.

“Yes,” he admitted, his voice low and measured. “It does.”

Y/N felt a wave of nausea wash over her. Hearing him confirm her worst fears made everything so much more real, so much more dangerous. “How could you do this?” she asked, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and disbelief. “How could you involve me in something like this?”

Giyuu’s expression softened, but only slightly. “I didn’t want to involve you, Y/N. But the deeper you got into this project, the less choice I had. You’re in too deep now. There’s no backing out.”

Y/N shook her head, her emotions swirling in a chaotic storm. “But why? Why are you doing this? I thought… I thought you were different.”

Giyuu took a step toward her, his gaze intense. “It’s not as simple as you think. This isn’t just about money or power. There are forces at play here that go beyond what you can imagine. And now that you know the truth, you’re part of it too.”
