The office was eerily quiet, the calm before the storm that no one expected. Y/N sat at her desk, sorting through the latest set of reports Giyuu had handed her earlier. Haruto had just returned from a meeting, and though he smiled at her like usual, there was a subtle tension in the air that she couldn't shake. She'd grown used to the silence that lingered between her and Giyuu, and though things with Haruto had become slightly warmer, a part of her felt unsettled, as if something was about to go terribly wrong.

Then it hit.

A violent explosion rocked the building, shaking the walls and sending everything on her desk crashing to the floor. Papers flew everywhere, and Y/N instinctively ducked as a nearby glass window shattered, sending shards scattering across the room.

"What the—"

Before she could finish her sentence, alarms blared, and the once-calm office erupted into chaos. Y/N's heart pounded as she stumbled to her feet, eyes wide in horror. She could hear screaming from down the hall, followed by rapid gunfire.

Giyuu's voice crackled through her earpiece. "Y/N, get to the safe room. Now."

She barely had time to register his order before the door to her office burst open. Haruto rushed in, his face a mask of seriousness she rarely saw.

"Are you okay?" he asked breathlessly.

"I'm fine, but what's happening?"

"An attack," Haruto said grimly, grabbing her arm and pulling her towards the exit. "They've breached the main floor. We need to move, fast."

The two of them sprinted down the hallway, their footsteps echoing against the walls as the building trembled with more explosions. Y/N's mind raced—how had this happened? The company had been on high alert for weeks now, yet the enemy had somehow slipped through. Someone had leaked information, she realized, but the question was who.

As they turned a corner, Y/N's breath hitched at the sight before them. The main office was a war zone. Bodies of colleagues—people she'd passed in the hallway every day—lay lifeless on the ground, pools of blood seeping across the marble floors. The enemy was everywhere, masked men in dark uniforms tearing through the office with ruthless efficiency. Her stomach churned, but she forced herself to keep moving.

Haruto handed her a gun, his expression serious. "Stay close to me. We'll find Giyuu and regroup."

Her hands trembled as she gripped the weapon. She had undergone training with Giyuu, but nothing could have prepared her for the sheer terror of being in an actual firefight. Her body felt sluggish, weighed down by fear and adrenaline.

Suddenly, a figure darted from the shadows, aiming a rifle directly at them. Haruto fired first, taking the assailant down with deadly precision. Y/N barely had time to react before another figure appeared behind him.

"Watch out!" she screamed, raising her gun and pulling the trigger. The bullet grazed the attacker's shoulder, sending him stumbling. Haruto finished him off, turning to give her a sharp nod of approval.

"Good shot. Let's keep moving."

They pushed through the chaos, fighting their way towards the control room where Giyuu was supposed to be. Y/N's ears rang with the sound of gunfire and explosions, her mind struggling to keep up with the violence unfolding around her. Everywhere she looked, there was blood and destruction. And yet, somehow, they managed to make it to the hallway leading to Giyuu's position.

That's when the second explosion hit.

The force of the blast sent Y/N flying into a nearby wall. Her vision blurred as she crashed to the ground, pain shooting through her body. Groaning, she tried to push herself up, but her arms shook from the effort.

"Y/N!" Haruto's voice reached her through the haze. He was by her side in an instant, helping her to her feet. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," she gasped, though every inch of her body ached. "We need to—"

Before she could finish, another group of masked men appeared at the far end of the hallway, cutting them off from Giyuu. Haruto swore under his breath, his grip on her arm tightening.

"We're outnumbered," he muttered. "We need to fall back."

"But Giyuu—"

"He'll be fine," Haruto snapped, dragging her back the way they came. "We need to survive first."

Y/N's heart sank as they retreated. She had never felt so helpless. But as they rounded another corner, a third explosion went off, collapsing part of the ceiling between them and the exit. Dust and debris filled the air, and Y/N coughed as they stumbled back from the wreckage.

"Damn it!" Haruto cursed, looking around for another way out. His face was streaked with dirt and sweat, his usual calm demeanour cracking under the pressure.

"We're trapped," Y/N realised, her voice barely a whisper.

Before they could come up with another plan, masked figures emerged from the shadows, surrounding them. Y/N's blood turned cold. They were completely cornered.

Haruto raised his gun, but before he could fire, another explosion hit—this time far enough away to not hurt them, but close enough to separate them. The floor buckled beneath Y/N's feet, and before she knew what was happening, she was falling, her body crashing against something hard.

"Y/N!" Haruto's voice echoed through the dust and debris, but she couldn't see him anymore.

She coughed, trying to blink the dust from her eyes. Her ears were ringing, and her head throbbed, but she was alive. Barely.

She stumbled to her feet, trying to get her bearings, but the smoke made it impossible to see. As she tried to move forward, her foot struck something solid. She glanced down and realised, with growing horror, that it was a body. A lifeless body, one of her colleagues. Her stomach lurched, but she forced herself to keep going. She had to find Haruto. She had to find Giyuu.

But as she turned the next corner, she froze. Five masked men stood in her path, guns aimed directly at her. Her breath caught in her throat as her hand instinctively went for her gun.

Empty.

No ammo.

Panic surged through her veins as she realised the gravity of her situation. She was cornered, unarmed, and outnumbered. There was no escape.

The men advanced slowly, their dark eyes gleaming behind their masks. Y/N's heart pounded in her chest, her mind racing. She couldn't fight them off. Not like this.

"I'm... I'm doomed," she whispered to herself, the words barely audible over the pounding in her ears. There was no way out.

Her mind screamed at her to run, to find a way to escape, but her body refused to move. The realization hit her like a freight train: she was going to die here. Alone, cornered by enemies she couldn't fight.

Her vision blurred with tears she refused to let fall, and she waited for the inevitable.

But somewhere in the back of her mind, amidst the rising panic, a tiny voice reminded her that Giyuu was still out there. He'll come for me. He always does.

Yet, as the masked men closed in, she wasn't sure if even Giyuu could save her now.
