That's how the shopping spree began. Felix got dressed, put on a mask, and tried not to draw too much attention to himself. He had to act a bit less confident, which was hard. When someone is about to become an idol or an actor, they get trained to project confidence that makes them stand out. As a model, Felix had gone through that training too. Now, he just had to tone it down, but it wasn't easy to break a habit he had grown used to.
He grabbed his keys and drove to the nearest Target. Inside, he picked up some blankets, pillows, bedcovers, decor—everything he needed to create a cozy space, even if it was just a house. He thought about whether Hyunjin would like his choices; after all, it was Hyunjin's house, and he was being kind by letting Felix make it feel more like home.
At the checkout, Felix approached the cashier.
"Hi, what can I get for you?" she said without even looking at him.
"Just these items," he replied, handing over his cart with a smile, forgetting he was wearing a mask.
"Your total is $48. You can grab something else to make it fifty," she said, packing his items in a bag.
"Uh, how about those candies?" Felix pointed to some right behind her.
"Alright! That's $51, but I'll give it to you for $50." She looked at him with a suspicious smile.
"Thank you!" Felix said, relieved, as he paid and took the bags. He hurried away, hoping she hadn't recognized him.
Once in the car, he let out a sigh as the engine roared to life. Now came his favorite part—decorating!
Felix walked into the house, the weight of the shopping bags heavy in his hands, but he didn't mind. The house was quiet, as usual, and its dull colors mirrored the silence. It was a beautiful place, sleek and modern, but it felt cold and lacking warmth—the kind of "Felix touch" it needed.
He dropped the bags on the floor and looked around the living room. The walls were stark white, and the dark, minimalistic furniture was stylish, but Felix knew a few personal touches would make it feel like home.
He began unpacking, pulling out soft, colorful pillows and cozy blankets. He mixed textures and patterns, imagining how they would pop against the sleek furniture. As a fashion designer, he had a knack for detail and knew how to balance beauty with comfort.
He draped a plush, navy blue throw over the couch and arranged the pillows just so. A smile spread across his face as he thought about how Hyunjin would react. Would he tease Felix about adding so much color to the neutral space? Probably. But Felix didn't mind; their playful banter was one of his favorite parts of living together. They could argue, laugh, and shout at each other, and he wouldn't complain—Hyunjin would just join in.
Moving on to the bedroom, Felix picked a deep green duvet cover, something rich and calming. He added a few more pillows in shades of grey and cream to keep it elegant yet cozy. He wanted the room to feel like a sanctuary—pretty and comfy, even if it was just a house.
When he was finished, the house felt transformed. Felix stepped back to admire his work, feeling a sense of accomplishment. It wasn't perfect, but it was a start.
He glanced at the clock. It was late, but he still had work to do. He grabbed his laptop and settled on the couch, surrounded by his new decorations. As a fashion designer, there was always something to work on—sketches to refine, emails to send, designs to tweak. But with the cozy atmosphere he'd created, everything felt a little less stressful.
He thought about tomorrow morning. Hyunjin would be home around 9 AM, and Felix was curious to see how he would react to the changes. Felix hoped he'd like it, even if he pretended not to.
As the hours passed, he lost himself in his work. The clicking of the keyboard filled the quiet room, blending with a random song stuck in his head.
He heard the front door open. Hyunjin was home. Felix turned a playful smile already on his lips.
Hyunjin stepped inside, his eyes widening as he took in the changes. "What happened here?" he asked, amused.
"I added a little flair," Felix replied, crossing his arms with a smirk. "You know, to make it less of a museum and more of a home."
Hyunjin chuckled and walked over to the couch, running a hand over the soft blanket. "It's... colorful."
"Color is good for the soul," Felix quipped, trying to sound wise.
Hyunjin raised an eyebrow, a teasing glint in his eye. "Is that so? And here I thought I was living with a fashion designer, not a philosopher."
Felix rolled his eyes, but the smile on his face didn't fade. "Well, now you get both. You're welcome."
Hyunjin smiled back, but Felix noticed a hint of tiredness in his eyes. "Did you get some sleep?" Felix asked, concern creeping in.
"No... Can you make something? I feel like I might faint," Hyunjin replied dramatically.
"Seriously?" Felix rolled his eyes, but his heart raced with worry.
"Sit down before I change my mind," he said, gesturing to Hyunjin, who raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"Got it." Hyunjin quickly sat at the table, waiting for Felix to start cooking. But to his surprise, Felix pulled out a fresh chicken and some rice.
"You already made me food?" Hyunjin asked playfully.
"Don't think too much," Felix shot back with a grin.
