Felix's POV

The morning sun streamed through my office windows as I took a deep breath. Today felt like a new beginning. I was finally expanding my team, filling roles that would help my company thrive. It wasn't just about delegating work but about finding people who would understand and elevate my vision.

The interview schedule was packed. Seven candidates for various roles: designers, tailors, a marketing specialist, a content creator, and even someone for customer service. My assistant had been meticulous in arranging back-to-back interviews. I looked over the list of names, each accompanied by glowing recommendations and portfolios that practically screamed potential.

As the first candidate entered, I stood, shaking their hand firmly.

The first designer was an older woman with decades of experience. Her portfolio showcased elegant eveningwear, but what caught my eye were her sketches of avant-garde designs. "You have a unique perspective," I said, flipping through her work. She smiled warmly, explaining how she balanced creativity with wearability.

Next came a fresh-faced graduate whose enthusiasm was infectious. His ideas were bold, edgy, and exactly the kind of innovation I wanted. I decided right then that they'd complement each other perfectly.

The tailor candidates were equally impressive. One was a quiet man with a knack for precision; his sample work had not a single stitch out of place. The other was bubbly, an expert in textiles who rattled off fabric suggestions like a walking encyclopedia.

The marketing specialist sold herself effortlessly, outlining a campaign idea within minutes of sitting down. By the time she left, I was already imagining our first collaboration.

The content creator brought an energy that filled the room. She talked about dynamic video shoots and trending aesthetics, and I could see her ideas blending seamlessly with our vision.

Finally, the customer service candidate spoke with such empathy that I knew she'd represent our brand with grace and professionalism.

By the end of the interviews, I had made my decisions. Seven hires. Seven new faces who would help turn this dream into a reality.

a while later

I leaned back in my chair, skimming through a stack of resumes and contracts for the new hires. My phone buzzed, interrupting my thoughts.

"Are you free now?" Hyunjin's voice was casual yet warm.

"Yeah, just finished up here. You?"

"Done with my meeting. How about dinner out?"

Before I could respond, another notification popped up. A text from Yuri.

Yuri: Felix, don't let Hyun go out today.

Frowning, I quickly typed back.
Me: Why? What's going on?

Yuri: Just trust me this once.

I sighed, feeling a mix of concern and confusion. Hyunjin's voice on the other end of the call broke through my thoughts.

"Felix? You there?"

"Yeah, about dinner... let's just stay in. Order takeout instead."

"Takeout? I was hoping for sushi."

I laughed. "We can get sushi delivered. Besides, I feel like doing something fun at home."

There was a pause before he said, "Fine, but you owe me an explanation later."

After dinner, Hyunjin and I ended up sprawled on the living room floor, a board game between us. Competitive sparks flew as we teased and tried to outwit each other.

"Don't think you can win just because you're good-looking," I quipped, placing my tile strategically.

"Good-looking?" he repeated, his face turning a slight shade of red.

I rolled my eyes but saw his face heat up more. His laugh was soft, almost fond, as he leaned forward to make his move.

Moments like these felt effortless. But beneath the surface, my heart raced every time he glanced at me. And when I leaned over to playfully push his hand away from the board, his fingers brushed mine, sending a jolt straight to my chest.

Hyunjin's POV

Later, in bed, I couldn't stop thinking about Felix's subtle glances and fleeting touches. His hand grazing mine during the game, the soft laugh when I teased him—it all played on a loop in my mind.

His words from earlier echoed, too. "Let's stay in. I feel like doing something fun at home." Was that concern in his voice? Or something else?

I turned to face the empty side of the bed, letting out a quiet sigh. Every moment today had felt like a challenge to my sanity. The way his hair caught the light, his quiet pride as he talked about his vision—it all made my heart ache in ways I didn't fully understand yet.

"Push me any further, Felix," I muttered to myself, "and I might not be able to hold back."
