chapter 14

Felix's pov :

he sure was feeling flirty today, but it was just his personality, right? Let's not think too much.

the meal in front of me looked delicious and along with the candles, it looked like something I would die to experience but I didn't have to die today.

the flames along with the darkness gave such a defined look on Jin. his eyes seemed to be sparkling and the light color of red created a blush-like image. he looked simply divine and that just made my heart flutter.

He tapped my shoulder, and he probably noticed me zoning out.

"Nothing" I muttered, taking my chopsticks that he probably broke in half for me.

he smiled. a little too attractively for my liking then began eating. i also followed suit and grabbed a piece of meat.

half an hour later

I placed my chopsticks down, looking at the empty pot then laughed with him. how on earth did we finish that so fast?

neither of us knew the answer nor did we care to.

i love the atmosphere with him. The almost-melted candle came into my view and just before I was about to go switch on the lights, a knock on the door startled me.

the knock wasn't just a simple cute 'knock', it was a banging knock. the switch can wait so I went ahead to open the door.

there comes Yume, OUR co-star whom I did not have an idea would arrive.

i looked at Hyunjin and he seemed just as confused as me but then she decided to walk right in.

"wow, such a romantic date..hmm Hyun aren't you allergic to coriander?" she let out a snarky tone.

"he is but, I'm considerate enough to remove it as an ingredient for him." I let out before he could let a word in and I saw him glare a little while trying not to burst into a fight. they never got along..

then I heard a click.

a flash.

our confused faces.

she let out a sigh and then began speaking "Look, I do not know what your relationship is. I'm talking to both of you but especially felix but I'm sure..this is just a facade. you know what? i have set up a couple of challenges for couples. i also have been doing a little research."

"And? we don't care about what you think is real or what is fake. you're here at this hour just to tell us this?" hyunjin spoke for me with a glare in his eyes to which she just laughed.

"darling, shut up and let me continue" She rolled her eyes and hyunjin scoffed.

"like I was saying, the research shows your habits and how you might not be a couple with all the extra things you've been doing that are clearly for popularity. i hate to ruin some plans so the challenge is at 5 pm tomorrow. I hope you don't chicken out. also, see you soon Hyun and maybe felix" 

she did a overdramatic wave with her hands and exited our apartment.

wow.

I sighed.

"what does she mean she'll see you soon?" I turned to the side, turned the switch on properly, and faced him.

"I don't know either." he rubbed his temple.

"don't worry too much. I'll still do the favors but we might have to adjust the time to 10 am." he ruffled my hair and started putting everything in place.

"aren't you worried...what if they say that our marriage is just on paper?" I sighed at the end, taking the pots and utensils to wash them.

"then that won't be a lie. but we've been fine till now, haven't we? we'll make it through. don't you believe in me, Mr Hwang?"  he seemed pretty confident but the first few words scratched a wound in my heart that I didn't know existed.

I slowly nodded while he made his way towards me and tried to take over the job but I stop him. he won and he seemed at relief while doing the dishes as if he burned his hand. that's just him acting dramatic I guess.

instead, I take out my phone and see a new trending hashtag.

the first one I understood but the second one made me intrigued and I opened it.

BREAKING NEWS: the Hwang couple are competing in a love show by the looks of it. is this what they were saying? Is this the part of the love show they auditioned to be at? let's see if their love is real!

and that just added fuel to my anger. really? does this have to be trending so fast too? i almost slammed my phone down but I did manage to catch Hyunjin's attention.

"Woah, what happened to my husband? why so aggressive?" he joked but quickly retraced as he noticed my anger.

without uttering a single word I showed him the article and he dared to laugh.

"c'mon, you need sleep. you still need to show me what to do when modeling right?" he smiled softly at me, almost trying not to laugh out loud seeing me in my sleepy state.

I yawned in response.

"you can go sleep. I'll finish everything up and don't overthink" he smiled once more as a good night and I went upstairs, entered a room, and fell asleep.

hyunjin's pov:

I'm glad I asked to do the dishes, it helped me calm my bruised hand. plus he looked to tired. Now for the article, I have a feeling that someone we know is behind this yet I can't let my heart know the thing my brain does.

after putting everything in place and the candles in the small shelf in the living room, I decided to go to sleep as well.

I thought I'd be like usual but I had no idea a surprise was waiting for me.

and god the surprise was magnificent

now comes the hard decision.

do I roll with it or do I roll far away from it?
