"Lunch," I said, handing him the lunch box as he was putting on his shoes, ready to leave for the office.

He took the tiffin and smiled. "Thank you," he said, pulling me closer. I knew he was going to kiss my forehead, but instead, he placed his hand on my cheek and pressed his lips against my right cheek.

Before I could react, he lightly brushed his tongue against my cheek, sending a shiver through my body.

He usually kissed my forehead, but now he kissed my cheek, and I felt a tremor run through me. My body shook, and he still didn’t remove his lips. I could faint any moment now.

Sensing my unsteadiness, he held my waist to keep me balanced. Then he looked at me and said, "Bye, my Lili," before kissing my cheek again. He left, leaving me standing in the corridor.

I must look like a red cherry right now. My cheeks are burning, and so is my stomach. It’s a different feeling altogether.

Today is Sunday, so it’s a holiday for me. But he has to work even on Sundays. After closing the door, I went to the bedroom and sat on the bed. My stomach felt like it was going to burst, but in a good way. I liked the way he kissed me—it felt like something out of a K-drama. I could feel so many butterflies inside me.

As I was lost in these thoughts, my phone buzzed with a notification. I opened WhatsApp and saw a message from an unknown number. I clicked on it.

"Hey, Ahvi, this is Alex. I got your number from Alana."

But wait, why did he message me? He’s not even my friend. Yesterday, he just asked me for notes, which I gave him. Then he asked for my name. When we were leaving the parking area, he mentioned, “Your handsome boyfriend picks you up daily,” and I smiled at that. But now he thinks we’re friends, which we aren’t.

I immediately blocked his number. He wouldn’t like it if I had a guy’s number on my phone, and honestly, I don’t like having many friends either.

I quickly opened my laptop and started watching a K-drama. But this one was different—it was a horror drama. It’s my first time watching something like this, and I could feel my heart racing right from the opening scene. The eerie music, the dark shadows creeping in the corners, and the sudden, bone-chilling moments were enough to make my skin crawl.
