In the morning, I woke up and instinctively reached out for my Lili, but she wasn’t beside me. I immediately sat up, feeling a slight panic. Then I heard the sound of water coming from the bathroom—she must be taking a shower.

I stretched my arms, trying to shake off the morning grogginess, and suddenly remembered something.

Lili had wanted to go on a trip. A deep sigh escaped me as the realisation hit me.

"Give me strength, God. My wife is leaving me," I murmured, half-joking, trying to mentally prepare myself.

It was a big deal for me, letting her go, but I knew she’d be safe. Of course, she’d have security with her. My bodyguards were always assigned to her, discreetly following behind to ensure her safety. They were professionals, trained to do their job without being noticed.

I just hoped she would enjoy her time with her friends and, most importantly, stay safe.

She stepped out of the washroom, looking so fresh and beautiful that it took my breath away for a moment. I stood up, still processing her presence.

"I guess you’ll be leaving in the morning. Do you need me to buy anything for your trip?" I asked, trying to hide the disappointment in my voice.

“I’m not going,” she said simply, leaving me shocked.

"Why, Lili? Is it because of me? I’m sorry if I said something wrong, but you can go. I’m happy if you’re happy. Please, don’t stay because of me," I quickly responded, worried that I might have been the reason she changed her mind.

"No, it’s not like that," she reassured me. "Mom and Dad came specifically to meet me, and I don’t want to leave them. I don’t want to go."

I felt a wave of relief wash over me. "No, baby, you don’t need to think about all that. I’ll explain to Mom and Dad. You should go if you want," I insisted.

But she shook her head. "I don’t want to go. I want to be here with them."

Even though I tried to hide it, I couldn’t help but feel happy that she wasn’t going anywhere. She was staying with me.
