Bakugou didn't bother to come to bed that night. Instead he laid on the couch while you took the bed and at first you thought he was being a bit dramatic and he would eventually come to his senses but when you woke up in the morning and felt his side cold and empty, you knew he was taking this a lot harder than you thought.

You let out a breath as your hair laid out in different directions on the pillow, your eyes focused on the ceiling and your heart clenching at the realization of his absence.

When you glanced over at the clock, you noticed he still had an hour before he had to leave for work and even then you didn't want him to go but at the same time maybe the space would be much needed.

After a couple of minutes you decided to get up, your feet shuffling out of the bedroom and instantly laying your eyes on his body as he slept on the couch. He looked uncomfortable and he could barely even fit on the sofa as is.

Soft snores left his parted lips. He was lying on his back, one hand on his chest and the other rested behind his head. He was still in his sweatpants and black tank top, his hair a mess and the tiny blanket barely covering half of his body.

Your eyes grew glossy once again, the guilt eating at you because you never wanted to make him upset. He was the only person you had left. All your family was dead, you hardly had any friends left and you were practically trauma ridden to your apartment that he bought you. For the both of you.

When you stepped over to the couch, you kneeled down on the floor beside him and gently traced your fingertips along his soft cheek. You didn't deserve to have someone like him. Someone who was caring and compassionate. Someone who would die and kill for you to make you smile.

His face twitched slightly at the tickling feeling of your fingers. Slowly, he woke up but decided to keep his eyes closed and act as if he wasn't awake. He secretly didn't want to face you just yet, not after yesterday and the argument you two had.

"I'm sorry." You mumble, more so to yourself but also to him even if he can't hear it.

"I don't deserve you." You sighed, closing your mouth to stop you from growing more upset.

Gently, you placed a kiss to his forehead and decided to stand up straight before heading to the kitchen to make him some food before he leaves. After some time, Bakugou did get up from the couch and go in the room to get dressed for work, his guilt also eating away at him as well.

When he grabbed his hero suit, he stared at it for what seemed like forever until he finally decided to say fuck it and not go in today. He knew you felt bad and that you were sincere but it was just the way you went about it that hurt him.

"You're not dressed yet?" You asked once he stepped out of the bedroom, still in his sweats and tank top.

"I'm staying home today." He walked over to where you stood, his large hands reaching out for you.

He had cupped your face, his warm thumbs tracing circles on your cheeks as his red eyes buried into yours. You sniffled slightly, placing both hands on his sides and accepting his embrace, hugging onto him so tightly that you were scared to loosen up even just a little bit to let him breathe.

"I'm sorry." You said once again, feeling his fingers thread through your hair.

"I know." He answered, placing a quick kiss to the top of your head.

"I know why you did it. I would've done the same thing if I was in your position." He spoke softly, pulling back to look down at your face.

He traced his thumb over the few small scars you had on your cheeks and your forehead. The reminder of the battles you two had with Shigaraki, the reminder of seeing you in that hospital room connected to all of those machines.. a reminder of when he almost lost you completely.
