I lean forward, my elbows resting on my knees as I watch the tv carefully.

Buck is trapped under a truck and a guy with a bomb is walking around in front of him. My knee bounces as I watch everything unfold.

"A civilian is now approaching the man. We have no idea of the identity of this civilian." The reporter says. I recognize the guy. Bobby.

"Lydia.." I hear Miles says from behind me. I shush him, continuing to watch. I feel someone sit beside me but I ignore it, keeping my eyes glued to the tv.

All of a sudden, Bobby lunges forward, holding the bomber in a chokehold, keeping his hand closed on the bomb trigger. My knee bounces even more, nerves wracking through me.

The bomb squad comes forward and leads the bomber out of the way. Paramedics come from every direction, heading to the truck.

The tv shuts off and I look up. "Hey!" I say. "Lydia. They got to him, he's going to be fine. You need to calm down, okay?" Miles says. "You can't do that-" I start to say. "I can. And I just did." Miles says, leaning in front of me.

I look away from him, sighing as I do. "Let's eat dinner, then you can text your dad about Buck, okay?" Miles says. I nod and let him pull me up before heading to the kitchen.

Dad says Buck will be fine. He's expected to make a full recovery.

Miles dropped me off at home about an hour ago. He's been a rock through this whole thing. With Mom passing and now Buck almost dying, he's been there.

And I don't think I can explain in words how thankful I am.

The next morning, me and Dad go to the hospital so I can visit Buck. Dad is bringing Chris this afternoon.

I told him I'd go with Chris but Dad said the hospital wouldn't allow two kids back there. I said it was a stupid rule and he agreed with me.

Either way, we can't help it.

We walk down the hall before getting to Buck's room. Dad turns down the handle and opens the door. We both step inside and Buck looks over at us. "Hey." Buck says. "Hi.." I say, walking towards his bed, but still not getting that close.

"How are you feeling?" I ask. "Better, still in a bit of pain." Buck says with a small smile. I nod. "I'm just glad you're okay.. I don't- I don't know what I would've done if you weren't." I say, scratching my arm nervously.

"You can't get rid of me that easily." Buck says. I laugh slightly, shaking my head.
