Summer is finally here.
After months of stress, we are all free of the online school we had to take. I made A's and B's so I ended up passing.
I know a lot of people ended up failing, but Me, Isabelle, Miles, and Julian are not any of them.
We're all hanging out at Athena's house as we wait for Buck to get here. We're having a party for him, to congratulate him on being allowed back at work.
"Give me that you weirdo!" Isabelle says, snatching her phone back from Julian. "You said I could text my mom!" Julian says.
"You were not trying to text your mom! You were going through my texts!" Isabelle says. "Because it's funny." Julian says with a laugh.
Miles laughs as well. "What are you laughing at, loverboy?" Isabelle asks, her eyebrows raised. "How stupid the two of you are." Miles says. "Hey!" Isabelle and Julian say at the same time, making me and Miles laugh.
"Guys! He's here!" Hen says. We all rush to get up and go to the foyer.
The door opens. "Thanks for coming! I know it's on such-" Athena says as she walks down the stairs, Buck and Maddie following her. "Surprise!!" We all yell, cutting Athena off.
Buck laughs, holding his chest with his hand, clearly trying to act surprised. He can't act for crap.
Dad hugs Buck and then Me and Chris do. "Every time I see you, you get taller." Buck says to Chris as we pull away from the hug. Chris laughs.
I walk over and hug Maddie. "How are you doing?" Maddie asks. "I'm okay." I say. "Lydia. Your boyfriend is being annoying." Isabelle says, walking up to us.
"Boyfriend?!" Maddie and Athena ask at the same time. "Uh.. yeah. Miles." I say. "I knew it!" Maddie says excitedly. "Please don't tell Dad. He still doesn't know." I say with a small laugh.
"You have to tell him, Lydia." Maddie says with a laugh. "I know.. I'm just trying to let Miles make a good impression first." I say. "It's been months since y'all met. I'm sure your dad likes him." Athena says.
"Maybe." I say, shrugging my shoulders.

Everyone gathers in the yard, talking and eating cake. "I cannot believe you haven't told your dad about us yet!!" Miles says jokingly.
"You've met him.. I'm sure you can see my concerns. Plus, I haven't really had time to tell him. He's been piling himself with shifts." I say, shrugging my shoulders.
"Do you think it's because of uh- because of your mom?" Isabelle asks. "Maybe. There's no telling with him. He doesn't talk about his feelings. It's his least favorite thing to do." I say. "Well, we can see where you get it from." Julian says.
I shake my head with a small laugh. "Buck?" I hear Bobby say, catching my attention. I turn around and Buck is coughing. All of a sudden he spits out blood then falls to the ground, making everyone gasp.
"Call 911!" Bobby says as he rushes over to Buck.

I pace around my room, waiting for a text from Maddie. I messaged her about Buck like an hour ago and I still haven't gotten a response.
My phone lights up and I rush over to it. "He's fine. He had a blood clot." The message from Maddie reads.
I let out a sigh of relief. That was another close call for him.
Thank goodness he's alright. Like I said, I don't know what I'd do if he wasn't.
