"Lydia! It's Christmas." Chris says, waking me up. I groan, looking over at my alarm clock. "It's 6 in the morning, Chris." I say, turning over. "It's time to get up!!" Chris says, walking away from my doorway.
I get up from my bed and follow him. There's an arrow on the floor and it leads to the door. Chris is already outside. I go outside and there's a Christmas tree in our yard. A woman steps out from behind it. Mom.
"Mommy!" Chris says excitedly as Mom walks over to him and picks him up into a hug. "I missed you, baby." Mom says. I don't know what to do.
I don't know if I should run up to her and hug her or if I should stay away. My body makes up my mind for me as I run towards them, hugging Mom as tears fall down my cheeks. Dad joins the hug, placing a kiss on Mom's head.
At this very moment, everything feels normal. I can't help but feel at ease now that she's back.

"We told them we'd be there thirty minutes ago!" Dad says as we clean up wrapping paper. I got three books and some clothes, I asked for them. Chris got some toys and candy. "Lydia, take your brother his toys please." Dad says. I nod, picking up the toys and bringing them to Chris's room.
"Hey bud." I say as I put the toys into his toy box. "You ready to go?" I ask. Chris nods with a smile. I help him up and he walks by himself to the living room.
Mom has a pan in her hand as she walks out of the house, Me, Dad, and Chris follow her and get into the truck.
"Ready?" Dad asks. "Yeah." Mom says and Dad pulls out of the driveway and starts driving to Athena's.

"And the 118 is back together again." Chimney says from the kitchen as Me, Dad, Mom, and Chris walk down the stairs. "It's been three days, Chim." Buck says as he stands up from his seat.
"Let me be happy." Chimney says with a frown. I laugh slightly as Buck walks over to us. He ruffles my hair and I groan. "I just fixed my hair!" I say. "I'm Shannon, Eddie's wife." Mom says. I freeze. I never thought I'd hear that sentence again.
Yes, it's a dumb thing to be surprised about, but I never thought she'd come back. I thought it would just be Me, Dad, and Chris for the rest of our lives.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Buck." Buck says with a small smile. "Foods almost ready." Bobby says as he walks inside. He sees Mom and he looks surprised. "Hey. Who's this?" Bobby asks as he puts a pan on the table and walks over. "I'm Shannon. Eddie's wife." Mom says. "Oh. Nice to meet you. Welcome." Bobby says. Mom smiles and Bobby walks away. Athena, Hen, and Hen's wife, Karen start talking to Mom.
I bring the pan we brought to the table and sit beside May. "So your mom is back.." May says. "Yeah." I say. I've became kind of close with May as well. I see her all the time. "How do you feel about it?" May asks. "It's okay.. I mean, I thought I'd be upset, but I don't know, I guess I'm not." I say.
May nods. "That's understandable." May says. I nod at her with a smile. May smiles back before standing up and walking over to where everyone is talking to Mom.
Something feels right about this, I truly thought I'd hate this, but seeing Dad and Chris happy about her being back changes everything. I smile as I watch Chris laugh while Mom talks to him.
I haven't seen him this happy and excited in a while.
