I'm laying in bed, scrolling on my phone when all of a sudden my door bursts open. "Lyds. You can't be in bed all day!" Dad says from my doorway, Buck is standing beside him. He's been hanging around our house a lot."I have nothing else to do." I say with a groan as I continue scrolling on my phone. "Well, you do now. You and Chris are coming to the station with us." Buck says. I sit up in my bed, resting on my elbows.
"Why? Did something happen to Aunt Pepa?!" I ask, my eyebrows raised. "No. No. She's fine. I'm just giving her a break, so you two will be staying with me for my overnight shift tonight." Dad says. "And that's been cleared with the chief?" I ask. "Surprisingly.. usually he's strict." Buck says.
"Okay then." I say. "But doesn't Chris have school?" I ask. "It's Saturday.. Be ready in 15." Dad says. I fall back onto my bed with a groan. "And I mean it!" Dad yells as he walks down the hall. Buck laughs before following him.

I pick up my backpack and walk to the living room. "And you have everything?" Dad asks. "Yes. I have my toothbrush, my laptop, my chargers, my phone, my headphones. I have everything." I say. "Okay." Dad says with a nod.
"You ready to go, bud?" Dad asks Chris. He nods with a smile on his face. "Okay, let's go!" Dad says, picking up Chris and helping him outside.
Buck leads me outside, talking about school. Even though he knows I won't be back until at least November. I nod my head as he talks before getting into Dad's truck.
Buck brought his jeep so he'll meet us there. Honestly, I thought moving here would be awful. But, I've been proven wrong. Except for the whole "locker falling on me" incident.
***********
We walk into the station and Dad immediately brings us upstairs. Chimney and Hen lead us to the couches and they start talking about video games. Chris is obviously interested. A smile resting on his face, like always. I don't know how he does it.
"So, Lydia. Do you play video games?" Chimney asks. "Not really. That's a Chris and Dad thing." I say with a laugh. "Are you sure it's not your thing?! I need another girl to help me beat these losers." Hen asks. "Well, I'd love to help you beat them. I'd love to see that." I say. She smiles at me before laughing.
"I take offense to that!" Chimney says. "And why is that?" Hen asks. "Because! She thinks she can beat me." Chimney says jokingly. "Do you want to try?" Hen asks, looking over at me. "Why not.." I say, taking a controller from her.
*********
I ended up beating Chimney pretty bad. He's been walking around with a pout. "Good job Lyds." Hen says with a laugh. "You got Chimney to pout.. though, that's not that hard." Buck says. "Oh really?" Chimney asks. "Last time I checked, you pouted for a week when Hen beat you!" Chimney adds.
