Humans are so fucking predictable.

"I am not a traitor."

Especially who betrays.

But they tend to forget something. Every living soul has a weakness that would eventually be the death of them. Life taught me this lesson in a most brutal way, and that is why I don't have any weaknesses anymore. They call me a monster, a demon, a walking corpse with no heart and no emotions, and I never corrected them. I'm known to handle my enemy most cruelly and painfully. They would be lucky if they ended up getting a quick death from me as retribution.

The torture room was filled with agonized cries, pleading, and Jahanzeb's punches. That asshole was once a budding boxer, and no one can compete with him in throwing the most brutal punch. Then life happened, and he ended up working for me; however, he still punches like a hulk. That was the sole reason I chose him to interrogate the rats in the gang.

Lighting a cigarette, I took a long drag to subside my fatigue. It's been 48 hours since I slept, but the ambush at the recent deal with the Al-Zein clan, an Arab mafia, brought in the dire need to curb out the moles in the gang. I already know it was a work of Red Wa, our rival gang, but what made me rage in raw fury is how we are losing our credibility because of the incessant meddling of that fucktards.

Red Wa is our rival gang in south Asia and has been eyeing our clients to strengthen their hold over Asia. The arms and ammunition deal with Al-Zein would have given us an upper hand over them, but before we could discuss the deal, police raided the spot, and it was not rocket science to realize we had been compromised by the rival gang. Fortunately, we escaped before we could get caught. Although Mahmoud Al-Zein, head of the clan, gave us another chance for the sake of my reputation, my sources told me, Red Wa, like a sly fox, had also proposed a deal with them.

"You still think I would believe your shit?" Jahanzeb growled, followed by a sound of jaw cracking.

"Either you take us for a fool, or you have a death wish."

"Please, believe me, I don't know anything. I will never betray, Boss. My loyalty rests with him," Rafi, who was tied to the chair, pleaded.

"Boss, please believe me. I am not a traitor; I didn't leak the meeting details." With his bloodied face, he begged, looking at me expectantly.

The rage of betrayal from our own and lack of sleep took a toll on me. I couldn't care whether he accepted or not, I had enough and decided to get rid of this piece of shit. Taking the last drag, I crushed the remnant under my shoes and rolled my sleeves.

I have been into the mafia for ten years, yet these fucktard take me for a fool just because I was a clueless commoner before joining the Pathan gang.

Rolling my other sleeve, I took menacing steps towards him while smirking. Something about my expression made him swallow in fear. Betraying me is one thing, but he should know I never show even an ounce of mercy for betrayers no matter who they are.

"This is your last chance, Rafi. Either confess and get an easy death or...." I trailed, knowing well my threat reached him alright.

"Boss....." He stuttered before adding, "I nev-"

"First rule of playing a game, never stutter while lying, and second, make sure you don't have a weakness," I said.

I know I got him when I saw raw fear in his widened eyes.

"One piece of advice before you leave this world. If you want to be invincible, have no weakness in your life, including love."

In response, he started thrashing in his place with an ignited fight.

"Boss....she is innocent—"

Without breaking my stare with him, I said with a cruel smirk, "Sending your girl to a different country doesn't guarantee her protection, does it?"

I know Rafi didn't have a family but what he didn't realize was that I had my eyes and ears everywhere. I don't trust anyone, especially women, and that is why I hire men who either are orphaned or have cut their ties with their families. Family means women, and women mean weakness, and I can't stand weakness.

"what was her name? Zobiya or...." I stopped in mid, seeing his body trembling with dread. that fucker had been tortured for an hour, and yet he never showed an ounce of fear, and here he is, shaken just by the knowledge of me knowing his girl's name.

"She is here, in the warehouse. Nicely tied in the adjacent room. Would you like to meet her?" I added, circling around him, enjoying his despair at the thought of his love getting hurt.

Women, for me, are hypocritical serpents and nothing more. Their existence in my life is merely for sex. So far, only one woman could cross that threshold, whom I trust enough to take care of me and my mansion, Amma.

"Boss, she doesn't know anything. She is innocent; please don't drag her—" he tried persuading me but in vain.

I halted before him before saying, "you betrayed me for her, isn't it? you wanted to live a normal life with her, and in order to achieve that, you chose to give inside information to our rival who promised you protection and a new identity in Thailand."

I leaned down to be at eye level with him.

Rafi swallowed audibly and mumbled in desperation, "I will tell you everything, please don't hurt her. In fact, there is another guy, but I don't know his information. they never disclosed who else from our gang is involved with them."

"You have been with me for 8 years Rafi, and still you don't know me. I hate women, and for a woman, you backstabbed me," I said, straightening up slowly.

"Boss, I was wrong. I will tell you everything. The Red Wa is meeting Mahmoud this coming two days in his suite in Park Hyatt. They also informed the police that you are the right hand of Lala Sir and are the mastermind behind the money laundering. Special task force is currently investigating, and soon Income Tax department will raid the office—"

"I know," I announced.

"What? How? they neve—" Rafi gaped at me with newfound horror.

"I also know Wang is planting a sniper in my hotel tonight, deliberately targeting the Saudi minister residing in the private suite of my hotel. He thinks that would bring the Pathan gang under the radar of the governments of two countries." I said matter of factly, nodding subtly at Jahanzeb.

"then....why...." Rafi stuttered. he thought I was torturing him for information that I already knew.

"As an appreciation of your service, I would grant you one last wish. Choose wisely, how do you want that girl to die? After I taste her tonight, should I send her to a brothel, or should I pass her to them and then kill her eventually?" I asked, pointing at my men surrounding us.

"You heartless asshole, I will kill you if you touch her. I already told you she is innocent," Rafi's eyes were glaring daggers.

"tsk, you should gauge the situation and then threaten Rafi. Have you not learned anything from me?" I asked, cracking my neck to ease my rigid muscles.

"Be a man and fight me one to one," he growled.

Now, I pity him. Love did screw his sanity. Even Jahanzeb, who is known to be the best when it comes to fighting, couldn't stand against me.

"As you wish."

Ten minutes later, Rafi was lying on the ground, lifeless. His eyes, void of any life, staring at me. Shame, he didn't even last ten minutes, and in the end, I had to crush his throat as I already had an urgent task to handle; otherwise, I wished to prolong his death.

I was about to leave the room when Jahanzeb asked, "What about the girl?"

I halted in my track. Yes, it was because of her, Rafi chose to betray me, but I also know she didn't know he was involved with the mafia and was clueless about everything. If it is looked at his way, he was responsible and to be blamed, not that girl.

"Dump her anywhere where she could be seen and make sure she is unconscious. We don't want witnesses. I will head to the hotel to tackle the sniper," I said and marched out of the room.
