"What's the update?" I asked over the phone.
"Wang left to meet Mahmoud Al-Zein a few minutes ago," Tareq informed from the other side.
Today will be Wang's last day alive, and with him gone, I'll make sure Redwa will never dare to step into my territory again.
Tareq, along with some of my men, went to Wang's hideout as informed by his men before dying. The plan was laid, my men were at their allotted places, and I was where I was supposed to be—in my hotel.
An image of a delicate girl snoring lightly in my arms flashed before me. If not for today's plan, I would have been in the mansion questioning a naive intruder that shook my resolve last night.
I shake my head to bring my focus back on my mission. The next step was to check with Osama. As soon as the call got connected, I could feel that fucker's grin through the phone, "Boss, you made my mother's wish come true today,"
"Don't overdo it!"
"Overdo? Me—" before he could start, I disconnected the call.
Now all that was left for me to do was make the commissioner my alibi. Like the law-abiding citizen I'm known of, I was helping the police capture the real culprit who was disrupting the city's calm with their presence.
Ahaad stood at his usual spot near the door, waiting for my orders. When I nodded, he excused himself while dialing a number immediately. The moment he left, my phone buzzed with an incoming call.
"Mr. Sharma, I was waiting for your call." I sounded as serious as I could.
"Mr. Abdullah, the arrangements have been made. My team reached your hotel to escort the Saudi ministers and his delegates back safely to the airport," the commissioner said.
"I don't want to take risks after last night's shootout and would personally drop the minister to the airport. I'm grateful you came out to help provide extra security at such short notice," I sounded sincere, but I was anything but.
"It's my duty to protect our esteemed guest, Mr. Abdullah. I wanted to approach you, but you surprised me by calling first and sharing your concern for your guest's security."
"I know you have your presumptions, and I'm ready to cooperate in any way you wish me to, but the safety of the foreign minister is my utmost priority."
"Of course. One van will lead the while the rest will follow the minister's car," the call went for a few more minutes with him and me exchanging the plan.
The man didn't realize he was just a pawn in my game.
After the call, I buttoned my suit and walked out of my cabin. Since I would be sitting with the Saudi minister, I reached the car ahead of time, checking the arrangement and talking to the officer in charge. I know by now Ahaad had made the calls, and by evening there will be a newsflash all across the city. Public opinion is a strong weapon, and once I have them in my favor, even authorities couldn't do much.
Once the ministers came down along with his delegates, we exchanged the formalities and headed inside the car. One policeman sat in the passenger seat as a security measure while a van with armed officers was ahead.
As soon as the car was in motion, I received a message from Tareq, Rats are out. We have restocked the kitchen.
It meant he killed Wang's men guarding his hideout, and his place was stacked with weapons and drugs along with documents that prove Wang's involvement in last night's shootout. Tareq being the smartest, was the right man for the task. He leaves no clue or trail behind.
