The place seems like a normal godown used for stocking heavy machinery, and the location makes it even more difficult to access for normal people. But what those people don't know is that below that godown is a vast underground space to carry out hidden activities.
Every now and then, a random car would appear, and men in suits would step out. They enter the godown while their vehicle leaves the premises as if it wasn't there in the first place. The lack of surveillance cameras indicated those people didn't want to be captured later to be blackmailed. It could also mean Hammad's overconfidence that no one could find his hidden auction house.
"The place is accessible via invite only that holds the scan code. To avoid any suspicion, there are no guards around, and only people with a scan code will be able to enter through the hidden staff-only door," Jahanzeb hurriedly explained the blueprint of the place while I checked my guns. On the other hand, Osama looked like he was about to be granted a wish of a lifetime.
"So how are we entering the place then?" I asked, ignoring the extra glint of excitement in his eyes.
I for sure know it is personal for me and Jahanzeb—though he tried to hide it. I wasn't sure why Osama looked like he was about to confront his neighbor who killed his dog like John Wick.
"Through the basement that leads to a tunnel inside. It was earlier used to hide the stock of illegal drugs and liquor in case of a raid. Only the previous owner knew about it. When John took over, as a grudge, the last owner never revealed to him about the place," he informed, tucking his gun in the back of his jeans.
I made a mental note to ask how he knew about the place in detail.
Since it was early evening, we stopped the convoy at a distance to avoid any surveillance. Most of my men had gathered, awaiting the orders. I glanced around them and then at Osama and Jahanzeb before I spoke.
"Today is the day you will wipe out Hammad and his men from this world," and I could hear a low snarl from each of them.
Making sure the entire squad of my 80 men was attentive and ready to kill, I continued, "They have my wife," the moment I said this, Jahanzeb shifted in his place, but I ignored him, "And unless I have her, no one should reveal their presence. Use your training to hide and wait till the lights are out. Jahanzeb will ensure that we get that few seconds of advantage and, in those few seconds, take out as many men as possible without mercy.
"The higher the men you killed, of that bastard, the greater the reward. But leave Hammad and Nauman for me," as soon as I ordered, my men checked their guns and acknowledged.
"As a reward, do I get to kill Nauman with my bare hand?" Osama asked, licking his lips like a sadist.
"You need to find Tareq. If Nauman has his phone, he is surely locked somewhere in here. Find him, and then you both will take Adah out of here straight to my mansion," I said, ignoring his cringing pout.
"There is a mechanism to temporarily shut down the power supply in the basement. Osama, you wait there, and as soon as I call, pull the trigger down for 10 seconds and put it back," he said, and we started moving.
However, he stopped me and said, "They also have my girl. I have to find her before they...."
He trailed off, but I understood his intent. The more hostages they have, the easier it will be for them to use them as shields and then kill them after they escape. Our plan was not foolproof but that was all we had and with the end of hour Hammad had mentioned I can't afford to waste another minute.
I nodded at him and grabbed his shoulder, "Go, find her. I will handle Hammad and Nauman."
We reached the back side of the godown, slithering through the overgrown trees and bushes. Jahanzeb swept aside the dried leaves and pile of junk with his boots before a trap door came into our view. My men had formed a circle of 15, aiming in every direction for intruders.
