He hid your parents in one of his warehouses. If you can divert him for a day, I can rescue your family from there.
Aryan is going to Harare for a week.
Do you know the place he is staying? I can send someone to keep an eye on him while I can come to the mansion and take you as well.
The Me.......
My chain of thoughts broke when someone embraced me from behind. I didn't need to think about who it was and felt him nuzzling his face into my neck like usual. But what changed was that I felt disgusted at the touch. Like earlier, it doesn't make my stomach flutter.
"I told you I would be late tonight. Why are you not sleeping?"
To make sure you really are leaving earlier for your business trip.
I wanted to say but ended up saying, "to see you off before you leave. You said morning is your flight, but you decided to leave earlier."
"Yeah, something came up. I have to pre-pone my flight," he replied, turning me around.
I closed my eyes to mask my resentment swirling in them at his lies. Sucking a deep breath, I opened my eyes and looked at me with all the affection I could muster amidst my disgust. He was quick to pick me up off the ground and carry me to the bed. I knew that was the only thing he was looking for, and I was glad for a change that my body lost its connection with my mind when it came to sex. Otherwise, I don't know how I would have endured the repulsion.
Wrapping my arms around his neck, I stare at his beautiful face. Now I know why no one fell in love with him with that face. Behind the good looks lies a filthy monster whose soul is lost, and there is no way back.
Tossing me on the bed, he immediately worked on his clothes and thrust into me in one go. He already tainted me anyway; what would one more time make any difference? After he finished, he slumped beside me and pulled me to his chest. With my head resting over his heaving chest, I recollected my earlier conversation with Nauman.
Finally I got to hear something about my family, and it was a matter of a few days when they would be out of Aryan's clutches. And then I would leave this forsaken place forever.
"What happened?"
"Nothing," I murmured absent-mindedly.
"Then why are you crying?"
I blinked. Was I really crying?
I raised my fingers to my eyes, and like he said, I was indeed crying. But why?
"Adah. Are you still upset that I'm leaving for a week?" I heard him ask.
"I know you would have taken me with you if you could. it's.....I don't know.....I.." I trailed off, unsure of my turmoil.
"Ok," I heard his voice from above my head.
He neither asked me again nor stopped me from crying. Rubbing my back, he let me cry to sleep. By the time I woke up, it was already morning, and the other side of the bed was cold. He might have left after I fell asleep.
Learning from my past, I knew he wouldn't leave me alone in the mansion, and as expected, Tareq was waiting in the second-floor lounge. Although I have already spoken with Nauman last night, I still want to talk to him about how far he was with rescuing my family. If they are truly in the warehouse, then Aryan's guard will alert him about their absence. Something was amiss, and that had been making me restless to the point that I puked.
