We have a security breach.

That one sentence was enough to shoot up my rage. This company was my fortress apart from my hotel. My security system was top-notch, and it was impossible to attack my servers from the outside.

I was doing my morning workout when Ahaad informed me we had a breakthrough in tracking the gang members. one of my hackers had found a secret transaction leading directly towards Hammad and his minions. I came early to the office but met Adah on the way. The question that had been glued to my mind escaped my mouth as soon as she was alone with me. I won't say I wasn't surprised when she answered she was my toy saving herself from my untamed rage. At least she knew where she went wrong.

After leaving her in the elevator, I came to the main room and, since then, waited for an update. I frowned, looking at my Patek Philippe and then at Ahaad, "didn't you say it won't take time?"

Before he could question the hackers, one of them yelled, cursing profusely and typing on his keyboard. Like him, the rest went into panic mode, glancing between the large screens before them, when the light flickered and darkness fell over.

"what the fuck happened?!" I bellowed.

"Sir...S....the firewall cracked....and I....really..don't know..." one hacker who was leading the team stammered in the dark.

"You have 1 minute to talk," I heard Ahaad's voice before the sound of the gun clicking echoed.

"Someone hacked our servers, and the room will shut down automatically as a defense mechanism. It will boot up in 2 minutes," he blurted out without breathing.

"It..it can't be done outside the premises," when he said something occurred to me.

"You mean it's inside work?" I asked.

"y-yes...I need my computer to get details....I...." he hesitates before a shriek resounds. Probably ahaad placed the gun right at his head.

"It's not a good sign. We were consolidating the data when the system got shut down. If only one of us had backed up the file....we...." he whimpered.

The fuck!

Who was bold enough to be a Trojan horse in my Troy? Hiring for my firm requires a thorough background check which means no connection to the police, even for the candidate's distant relative. And the candidate is not desperate for easy money. Both scenarios would only make them go undercover on my enemy's behalf, and Aryan Abdullah couldn't stand a betrayal.

I stretched my neck to dissipate the tension arising from my anger. I clenched my fists to remain calm and think rationally. Precisely two minutes later, the power came back, and for some time, the only sound that could be heard was fingers working on the keyboard.

"Sir.." the voice of the same hacker grabbed my attention.

"They..." he gulped, glancing at Ahaad's pistol, "server 1 is hacked. They planted a virus that wiped out the entire data. They also used boosters to strengthen the virus attack."

The sound of Ahaad unlocking his trigger reverberated before he spoke again, "but the good news is before it couldn't affect other servers, our firewall shut down the system, and we had a backup. The team is currently building back the firewall and wiping out the remnant of the virus in the system. They used a self-destructing device that will defuse after a certain time."

"You said it was an inside job, then someone must have entered the server room themself to plant the virus," I asked to which he nodded.

"What about boosters?"

"It could be as small as a Bluetooth device, easily fitting any CPU or laptop."

"Without security access, no one is allowed to enter anywhere, including the server room?" I asked to which came an immediate reply, "yes."
