"Ma, why do you still wait for father? He doesn't love you and will not come back."

"Aryan, you are still a boy. You won't understand."

"I understand enough. He always used to yell at you or find fault in you whenever he was home. At least earlier, he used to say sorry for hurting you and regret not giving you enough happiness. but now what? he just left us to rot."

"I love your father, and he left us because he was ashamed of not keeping us happy."

"how do you know that?"

"you will know that once you are in love, my child."

I snapped out of my memory.

What the hell just happened? When did I fall asleep, and why did I have a dream of my mother's memory of the time when my father left us?

My mother was the epitome of a naive and innocent soul. Roohi Abdullah loved only one man; Adnan Abdullah, my father. Even when he failed to be a good husband or when he broke her heart by leaving us. Not long after he left us, we heard the news that he met with an accident and died while going to the hospital.

Even after his death, she never stopped loving him and always prayed for his soul, although he never deserved her forgiveness or love.

"We are here," Ahaad's voice snapped me out of my trance.

I looked around still in a daze of the memory to see the warehouse. I was supposed to meet Jahanzeb and see the progress before I head out to my mansion. When I stepped out of my hotel, I was content with my plan for Wang and my new proposal for Mahmoud Al-Zein but this dream has shaken me.

The memory was more than 20 years old, so why am I dreaming about it? It's been ages since I saw my mother's or my sibling's faces flash before me but something was amiss here.

"Boss?" When Ahaad called me out looking concerned, I realized he was holding the door open for me.

"Unload the trunk. I will head inside first," I said, grabbing my coat lying on the seat.

To the outer world, Ahaad was my secretary but in reality he was in charge of training our men along with Jahanzeb and mostly spent his time in the warehouse. The good part about the warehouse location was that it was near an age-old cemetery. One just had to spread a rumor about the place being haunted and no single soul will even come near it.

I walked towards the main entrance, still in thoughts when something bumped into me and fell with a thud. Already infuriated with the faded memory and blast from the past, I was ready to rip whatever had clashed with me.

But wait, what's this familiar smell?

Two misty eyes and a fearful face staring up at me came into my view.

Woman! No, a girl.

What the hell was a girl doing here? I don't know who was responsible but someone will have an excellent ass-kicking session with me tonight. Incompetence is different but a woman at our hideouts is the last straw to my wrath when we are in the mid of finding the rats. Already Rafi lost his life today because of a woman and now this.

"Run," she shrieked as soon her ass hit the ground.

Then it was followed by a series of gunshots. She covered her ears and shrieked before muffling it with one of her hands. Her head snapped in the direction of the sound before she turned towards me. Her grey eyes with blue rings looked deep into me with fear, not with fear of me but fear of death. She will soon fear me; it was a mistake she should have avoided, a mistake to cross my path. Especially when I was in my last stage of fury.

She stood up hastily, still facing the direction of the sound, grabbing my forearm. My jaw ticked with rage when my gaze fell on her clothes, a call girl. A bloody call girl how the fuck she dares to be here, in front of me?

Women are the blood-sucking two-faced leeches who are good at manipulating and pretending to be innocent, whereas their souls are as tainted as the devil. However, her touch sent a strange ripple through me, and this again infuriated me. Does she think her pretense will melt my hardened heart?

"R.....Run, run....they wi....will kill us."

I should applaud her for her dramatics. She came closer still clutching my forearm with her trembling hands. A whiff of familiar smell hit my senses the moment she came closer and all my mind could think of that smell, Lavender. I glared at her while she was trying to pull me along with her to run.

"You were there too, right?" I asked, grabbing her both wrists instead.

She faced me abruptly with confused eyes, "What?"

"Get her before Boss sees her." Too bad asshole, I already caught her.

She started thrashing like a dying fish in dread, but I held her tightly. She squirmed hearing the hurried footsteps in our direction.

"Plea.......se....let m—"

"Who the fuck are you? Who sent you here?" Now I remember. I had the same smell when I killed that sniper.

I brought her closer and sniffed her neck again to make sure, "Stop! Don't....don't touch me."

Seriously?!

A call girl, that too in my warehouse and telling me not to touch her?

"Boss?" When I heard Ahad's voice from behind I was momentarily distracted and it was enough for this vixen to bite my forearm. Too bad for her, it didn't even have an ounce of effect on me.

By that time, the rest of the men gathered around.

"Who was it?" I had to know who let her on-site.

Her struggle halted and she froze in my hold in fright. I could feel her veins pulsating faster from where I was holding her wrist.

They all trembled when I asked calmly as they knew it was the silence before the storm.

"I will not repeat," I said. My patience was running out. I already had enough for the day to handle.

"You know the rules. How did she enter the warehouse?" I turned towards her and fisted her hair harshly, something I wanted to do when she laid her hands on me.

I tugged her hair with force and could hear her wince in pain. That sound felt so soothing to me. She was trying to loosen my grip, and again her touch sent the same ripple through me. My gaze fell on my trembling lips and the drop of tears fell rapidly the more she was blinking her eyes in fear.

"You. Are you working for Wang? Did he ask you to seduce one of my men?" I fister her mane and brought her face closer.

"I....I...." she stuttered, shaking her head.

"You what?" I yanked her hair making her scream.

"Please...I didn't..." she cried.

She might think her tears will make me melt but too bad for her, she crossed a devil who has learned a long ago what conniving creatures women are.

"B.....Boss," Jahanzeb cautiously came forward.

"I will take care of her."

Something is not right. Jahanzeb is stuttering and looking guilty.

I pushed her towards him and wiped my hand that was holding her, "No need. Take her to the dungeon. I would handle her myself."

"Watch her till I'm back," I pointed to the two guards.

Since I had to discuss my plan for Wang, it was my priority, "Ahad, Jahanzeb, come with me to the cabin," I said, giving a final glance to that trembling woman in Jahanzeb's arms.

"Boss, I'm right behind you," his sheepish look didn't convince me but I wanted to see what that fucktard was up to.
