Boromir and Naehlara sat out by the river. Quietly talking, Aragorn and Legolas talking with Lord Celeborn about their future travel path. "What's going one between you and the elf prince?" Boromir suddenly questions, Naehlara turns to look at him eyebrows drawn together.
"What do you mean?" Naehlara questions, looking back towards the river.
"You two have gotten really close. You know more than the rest of us." Boromir says, honestly he was just ready for the two to admit their feelings rather than just flirting.
"I don't know what you could mean." Naehlara states.
"Really where should I start? The week before Moria or since we have been in Lothlorien?" Naehlara stayed silent, biting her lip looking over the water. "Fine, how about how you two are always holding hands or how he holds you. Wrapping his arm around your waist or hugging you from behind. Or the way he sleeps next to when you start having a nightmare? I can keep going if you'd like." Looking over Naehlara glared at Boromir. A cheeky smile on his face.
"He's become a good friend." Naehlara states, causing Boromir to keel over laughing.
"Naehlara, please, you have to realize you like him." Boromir says, turning to completely face her.
"I- Boromir, is this really appropriate?" Naehlara stumbles.
"Naehlara, the likely hood we die during this quest is too high for you to be avoiding your emotions." Boromir says, still not looking away from her, just watching the way she retracted from the conversation. "Do you know what it feels like to love someone?"
Naehlara's eyes widen, "I'm sorry what?" She questions, turning to face him crossing her arm in front of her chest.
"There's a girl back in Gondor. Her names Lilith. When I think of her, I long to be by her side again. Even if I was only away from her for five minutes. She's the prettiest woman I've ever met. My heart pounds when I'm around her and everything I do is to make sure Middle Earth is safe for her." Boromir explains, a smile on his face that Naehlara has never seen on him. He seemed so happy talking about this girl from Gondor. "My stomach turns when I'm standing close to her, like butterflies floating around in my stomach."
Naehlara smiled, "That is sweet Boromir. I'm sure you will see her again."
"Don't you ever feel that way towards anyone? Like they are your comfort in the darkest of times and they feel like home." Boromir says, Naehlara froze.
"I-yes. I have he, he's very comforting to me." Naehlara says, turning away from Boromir and towards the river.
"Just think about it." Boromir says, getting up and walking away, before turning back. "I'll see you later, Lara." A smirk on his face, not that Naehlara could see it.
Naehlara turned around sharply, it irked her that he called her that, Legolas' nickname for her. She couldn't say anything though, as he had already left the area. Lying down on the grass, Naehlara closed her eyes. Listening to the sounds of the forest and the elves around her. She knew Boromir was right that there was something else besides friendship between her and Legolas. But she wasn't sure what it was or if she was ready for anything. Really she shouldn't even be here if it wasn't for Galadriel, she wouldn't be here.
"Naehlara, come to your room. I need to speak with you." Galadriel's voice rang out through Naehlara's head. Naehlara sat up, looking around the river. She hated when Galadriel would do that, would speak to her in her head. Standing she made her way to her room, the path still engraved in her brain. The river was her second favorite place to go other than the training grounds when she was here.
She slowly walked towards the room, only stopping when she reached the door. When it suddenly pulled open revealing Galadriel on the other side, smiling down to Naehlara. "It is lovely to have you back, Naehlara." Galadriel greets, moving to let her into the room.
