Naehlara walked the walls with Aragorn, checking the troops and watching the army of Uruks approach. They seemed to be going as far as the eye could see. They made it to the first wall, making their way through the elves till they came up behind Legolas and Gimli. Gimli sat there jumping up and down trying to see over the wall.
"You could have picked a better spot." Gimli grumbled, glancing back to see Aragorn and Naehlara. Legolas smirked causing Naehlara to smile, of course he had done this on purpose. "Well lad, whatever luck you live by, let's hope it lasts the night." Gimli says, trying to ease the tension in the air.
Lighting flashes across the sky, thunder booming seconds later. A chill ran down Naehlara as she looked to the army from Isengard. "Your friends are with you, Aragorn." Legolas says, looking over the army.
"Let's hope they last the night." Gimli grumbles, looking to the stone in front of him.
Naehlara looked to Aragorn, he nodded to her setting a hand on her shoulder. "Stay here." Aragorn whispered, dropping his hand and walking away to command the elven armies. Naehlara had given him the responsibility for it, because Theoden seemed to respect him more and she would rather be on the first wave a battle. She was a warrior not a commander.
"I'll stay by your side, my prince." Naehlara whispered, moving from behind Legolas and Gimli to stand to the left of Legolas. He glanced to her raising an eyebrow, in question to what she said in her native language. But both, Naehlara and Legolas' attention turned to the ground as the army came to the wall, slamming their spear and feet on the ground.
"Show them no mercy! For you shall receive none!" Aragorn commanded. A Uruk-hai up on a rock raises his sword, the army around it stopping.
"What's happening out there?" Gimli questions, trying to jump up to see over the wall again.
"Shall I describe it to you?" Legolas teases, glancing down to Gimli, his lip tilted up in a smirk. "Or would you like me to find you a box?" Gimli looks up to Legolas, a laughing break through him.
Naehlara smiled at the two, "It's good to see you two getting along together." Naehlara says, looking away form the two and back towards the army as the Uruk on a rock cries out. All the elves and men raise there bows and notching there arrows aiming towards the army.
They began thumping there feet against the grounded. With another strike of lightning, rain started pouring down on Helm's Deep. Naehlara wanted to curse the sky for drenching her clothes and making the stone wall slick. Naehlara tensed as she saw an arrow go flying, wizzing through the air. Lodging into the neck of a Uruk-hai, the army on the ground and on the wall went silent. The creature groaning as it falls to the ground.
"Hold!" Aragorn yelled to the elves. The army roars, as the leader up on hte rock thrust his sword towards Helm's Deep. The army charging towards the wall. "Prepare to fire!" Aragorn commands. Legolas hold his bow stead, two arrows notched as he aims towards the army.
"Their armor is weak at the neck and beneath the arms." Legolas shouts.
Naehlara glances to him, "Don't miss." Naehlara whispers. Legolas looks to her a smile across his face.
"I wouldn't miss, even if I was blindfolded." Legolas states, looking back to the army.
"Release the arrows!" Aragorn shouts. Arrows went flying, killing many Uruks.
"Did they hit anything?" Gimli questions, starting to jump again.
"You really think 300 elves wouldn't hit anything?" Naehlara questions looking to Gimli.
"Give them a volley." Theoden commands, the men around Helm's Deep firing in a volley. The elves firing with them, killing the Uruk-hai but only being replaced with more. Naehlara bit her lip, anxiety starting to bubble inside her.
"After this, I need to get a bow and refresh my skills." Naehlara whispered more to herself.
Legolas smirked, he didn't know why she didn't have a bow but it intrigued him why she wouldn't use one when it's practically in the blood of elves to use one. Naehlara tapped her foot, anxious to fight but at the same time not wanting the Uruk's to breach the wall. "Send them to me! C'mon!" Gimli groaned, getting impatient as the men and elves fired arrows.
Naehlara's hand fell to her sword as she noticed the Uruk's climbing onto ladders. Using there spears to push it up against the wall, Naehlara unsheathe her sword as Gimli brandished his axe. "Ladders!" Aragorn yelled. Elves drawing their blades preparing to fight. While others kept firing arrows at the Uruks. "Swords! Swords!"
"Good!" Gimli cried. The ladders slammed against the wall, Uruk's quickly storming the wall. Naehlara swung her sword cutting into the neck of the first orc over the wall. Kicking it off the ladder and down onto the orcs below. Stepping up onto the wall, Naehlara spins around digging her sword into the back of a creature.
Pulling it from the neck of the creature, it falls to the ground. Naehlara moved down the wall killing creatures till her and Legolas are back to back attacking the Uruk's as they surround them. "Legolas," Gimli calls, causing Legolas and Naehlara to turn to him. "Two already!" He yells, holding up two fingers.
Legolas laughs, "I'm on seventeen!" Legolas yells. Naehlara scoffs, of course these two would start a competition in the middle of a battle that would most likely end in death.
Gimli shouted as he brings his axe down on another Uruk. "Argh! I'll have no pointy-ear outscoring me!" He yells, climbing the wall swinging his axe into the groin of an Uruk as it climbed over the wall. Falling backwards, down the wall, Gimli climbs up killing every creature as they come up the ladder.
Legolas fires two more arrows, glancing back to yell to Gimli. "Nineteen!" A smile crept onto Naehlara face as she struck another orc. Naehlara reaches down grabbing the hilt of Legolas sword, unsheathing it. Dual wielding the blades, killing two Uruks at the same time. Following the mass of Uruks, killing them as she made her way through the horde.
She made her way to Gimli, still sitting on top of the wall killing the Uruks as they come up. "Seventeen! Eighteen! Nineteen! Twenty! Twenty-one! Twenty-two!" Gimli shouts.
"Causeway!" Aragorn yelled, Naehlara glanced over seeing the group of Uruk-hai advancing on the causeway. There broad shields on there backs creating a shell blocking arrows from above. Elven archers fired towards the causeway, shooting the Sid elf the Uruks and causing them to fall from the causeway.
Naehlara came next to Gimli, sheathing her sword, keeping Legolas sword in her hands. "Gimli." Naehlara shouted for him to hear. Both grabbing the top of the ladder, pushing against it causing it to fall from the wall, killing the Uruks underneath it. A flame in moving through the crowd caught Naehlara's attention.
An Uruk was running straight towards the wall, down a path the Uruks made. That was not good, Naehlara thought. "Bring him down, Legolas!" Aragorn yelled, Naehlara stomach dropped, grabbing the back of Gimli's armor and throwing him s he yelled at her.
Legolas notches an arrow, firing at the Uruk hitting him in the shoulder. "Kill him! Kill him!" Aragorn yelled.
Notching another arrow and hitting him in the other shoulder. "Clear the wall! Clear the area!" Naehlara yelled, trying to clear as many elves off the area. Legolas glanced over to Naehlara pausing for a moment, looking back towards the Uruk as it regains its footing. Jumping into the drain at the bottom of the wall. It only took a moment before the wall exploded. Sending Naehlara and Aragorn flying.
Naehlara slammed against the second wall of the keep, falling to the ground everything blurring before going black. Legolas and Gimli froze looking to Aragorn, lying unconscious on the ground before the army of elves behind the wall. Legolas scanned the area, unable to find Naehlara between the debris that now littered the ground.
