I gradually became more intolerant on Angelo in general. Two more months of Angelo's facade went on, irking me from the inside out.
I couldn't stand him being that close to the two people I trust most, it's unbearable even.
I don't really understand how no one else can see what i see.
apparently besides jolece, but he already got rid of her.
"Chief? What're you getting?" Luca snapped me out of my trance. I came back to Earth and recognized my surroundings again.
We were all at a decent restaurant for me and Luca's anniversary. Luca had the idea to do a double date with Angelo and Jeremiah, and to avoid looking bitter, i agreed to it.
If I was honest though, I would've told Luca i'd rather let Angelo kill me than sit with him at my anniversary table.
I'd been eyeing Angelo and Jeremiah the entire time. Disgusted, i limited how much conversation i would make with them.
In general i'm sick of seeing them together.
"just a salad," I responded flatly. Luca creased his eyebrow at me, knowing that wasn't ordinary.
If Luca isn't going to say anything about it now, he definitely going to mention it when we get back to the dorms. To avoid conflict, i'd just tell him i wasn't feeling well.
"that'll be all," Luca turned back and told the patient waitress. She wrote away on her small notepad, "Perfect choices! Your orders will be with you shortly," She gave a trite smile.
After she walked away, there was a brief and comfortable silence—everyone at the table either fidgeting with what was at the table or their phones.
Angelo was the one to break the the brief silence when he said, "anyways, happy anniversary to you two! i'm glad you guys have been so strong for so long." his fake ass cheered.
There was not a single thing real about the smile on his face, Luca of course couldn't see that, "Thank you so much," He smiled without his teeth.
Luca's hand found its way to mine under the table and his thumb circled around a small area on it. It was a thing he did whenever he felt like something was off, specifically when he feels portending trepidation.
I glanced at him to see if there was anything physically showing, yet there wasn't. He returned the look but never communicated through eye contact. He turned his attention back to Angelo and made small conversation.
whatever that was about.
I looked across the table myself to find Jeremiah's toughened glare locked on me suspiciously. Returning his stare, I immediately started wondering what was wrong. I've mentally retraced every word i've said and ever move i've made since we got here, i don't see whats wrong.
