I approached the dorm room door, already dreading what was behind it. What I had just done with Von couldn't be delved on too much, so i simply brushed it behind myself for now.

I slowly unlocked the door, my heart pounding outside my chest with each motion. I gripped the cold metal knob and paused, mentally preparing myself for what's to come.

I turned the knob after a therapeutic exhale, and stepped into the dark room. I closed the door behind me and locked it.

"angelo." Jeremiah's grumbly voice vibrated throughout the dim room. Quickly, I developed goosebumps in that very instant—taking a few breaths to alleviate the stress.

"jeremiah," I returned in a stolid manner—playing as if i wasn't scared out of my mind, "what is it you wanted to talk about?" i played clueless.

This prompted Jeremiah to chuckle sarcastically, his lowered eyes finding his my worried ones, "Don't play fucking stupid."

I threw his bag down and let out a heavy sigh, "what're you talking about?" I responded, leaning against the wall.

Jeremiah stood up to start his distressed pacing, angrily pushing his words out, "Why are you fucking around with other niggas behind my back? What I do to deserve this shit?" This would only be the beginning of Jeremiah's yelling at me, followed up with more, "And if you fucking lie to me I swear we're over right now."

The words crossing my ears caused his heart to drop to my feet, "i'm not fucking with anyone. everything chief is telling you is a lie," my voice remained low due to the nervousness of the interactions

Jeremiah scoffed and gripped the bridge of his nose, "He said he saw you with some dude at the coffee shop the other day, true or false?" He asked.

I immediately knew what he was talking about. It was one of the other boys I tutored, he simply caught me at the shop and showed his gratitude for my help.

"That was just a friend thanking me for doing him a favor. Is there an issue with that?" I tugged my lip.

"Yes! There's a fucking problem. You're lying, why did you have to get coffee for someone to say thank you?" He interrogated harshly.

"I wasn't getting coffee with him, i was there by myself and he just so happened to have seen me, that's all." I explained honestly.

"yea right, a bunch of bullshit." He was adamantly cemented on Chief's words—i was worried the manipulation was too well spun and irreversible.

"Jeremiah what do I have to lie for—"

"I don't fucking know but clearly you don't love me as much as I do you!" He overpowered my voice.

"jeremiah...."

"No! Ion wanna hear that shit, tell me the truth Angelo, it's all I want!" He commanded sternly.
