The sound of birds chirping wakes me up. It's one of the things I love about this place - being able to enjoy every little detail of nature.

Just as I open my eyes, the most beautiful view before me captures my attention. Sara, sleeping peacefully in my arms. Gently, I reach out, brushing aside a few strands of her hair that had veiled her face just a moment earlier.

I never imagined that one day I would wake up in the morning, gazing at someone while smiling like a fool. So this is how love transforms a man.

Love... it feels like a dream....So surreal to think that the word 'Love' would find its way back into my life like this. It feels like, after so many years, I can feel the warmth again. The warmth of love.

My arms tighten around Sara as I continue to admire her, until unknowingly I drift off to sleep once again.

When I wake up, I no longer find her by my side on the bed.

Seems like I overslept today.

After freshening up, I head downstairs and spot Sara in the kitchen. I lean against the wall with my arms folded, watching her as she moves around the kitchen. Honestly, I haven't really paid attention to what she's cooking; all I want to do is focus on her right now.

Her eyes gradually lift, sensing my presence, and a smile gently curves her lips. "I thought I was going to surprise you, but since you are already here, look at what I baked!"

With a smile in return, I approach her slowly. As I glance down, the smile on my face fades.

"Carrot Cake! Dad mentioned it's your favorite." Instead of amplifying, her voice slowly recedes, carrying me back to that unforgettable night.

That Night....

The cake...tainted with blood...

"Aryan?" The abrupt voice of Sara drags me out of my thoughts, causing me to jolt slightly. "Everything okay?" she questions, her expression now clouded with concern. I offer a gentle shake of my head to reassure her. "I forgot my phone in the room. I'll go grab it."

As I turn to leave, her sudden voice halts me. "What about the cake?"

I pivot back towards her, somehow mustering a smile in an attempt to maintain ease. "You can have it"

 "You can have it"
