"Ten days?" I nearly shout, my eyes wide as I watch Aryan rummage through his clothes, neatly packing them into a suitcase. "Yes," he replies briefly, casting a quick glance my way before returning to his task.
"Who takes ten days for a business trip?" I sigh, flopping back against the pillows.
He pauses, strides over, and plants a soft kiss on my forehead. "It was planned at the last minute, and it's important. Ten days will pass in the blink of an eye. Don't worry, I'll be back soon."
"I'll miss you," I say, noticing a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"But work is important too," I add, pushing the blanket aside and slipping out of bed. "Let me help you with your packing."

I slide off my coat and drop it onto the couch before sinking into the cushions. The weight of a long, busy day settles heavily on my shoulders. My eyes shut as my hand reaches for my tie, loosening it, and I unfasten the top button of my shirt, finally allowing myself to breathe freely.
The sudden sound of the doorbell jolts me awake. I hadn't ordered anything, nor had I requested room service, which leaves me puzzled about who could be at the door. I make my way toward the door. Just as I swing it open, a pair of hands crashes into me, enveloping me in a tight hug.
"Sara?"
For a brief moment, I find myself bewildered, grappling with the possibility that I might be hallucinating. There is no way she could be standing here.
