"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND, SHUBMAN?" Anuj Uncle yelled as soon as I stepped through the doorway.

Yes, and I don't give a fuck about that.

"WHY DID YOU SAY ALL THAT? WE WERE SUPPOSED TO WAIT TILL THE INTERVIEW!" He screamed, again.

So that you can manipulate things again, huh? Yeah, no chance.

I didn't reply or look at him and continued walking towards the living room. My gaze wandered to look for Naina, and found her settled on the sofa, her tear-stricken face looking at me with glistening eyes. Without wasting another second, my steps sauntered in her direction.

"I'M TALKING TO YOU!" Anuj Uncle's annoying as fuck voice entered my ears again, and just like the last time, I ignored him again.

He has his priorities straight, and I have mine.

"Are you okay, Naina? Are you getting anxious again?" I asked, kneeling infront of her seat and cupping her face in my hands.

Her eyes glistened with a fresh set of tears as soon as she heard my voice, her lips quivering in torment. She looked at me for a few seconds, controlling her unruly emotions then shook her head.

"Pakka?" I asked, not believing her weak answer.

"Yes." She replied, in a low whisper.

I heaved a sigh of relief and gave her a tiny smile.

"Everything will be fine now. We'll be fine." I said, in a gentle voice while wiping the tear rolling down her face.

"YOU MESSED EVERYTHING FOR ME, AND YOU'RE SAYING EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE? ALL MY HARD WORK WILL GET TARNISHED BECAUSE OF YOU." Anuj Uncle yelled in the background.

Blah blah blah blah.

Naina flinched when Uncle's high pitched outburst resonated in the room, erupting a wave of anger in my mind. I was controlling myself from lashing out on him, but his lunatic behaviour was making it extremely difficult.

Even in a situation where somebody was assassinating his own daughter's character, he was busy worrying about himself and his stupid job.

At this point, his main character syndrome needs to be studied.

Once again, I decided to ignore his existence and pay attention to Naina.

"Mannu…" She whispered, but didn't complete her statement.

I could see a variety of questions bestrew upon her face and to be honest, it was understandable. A lot of things happened in a span of a few minutes and making sense of all that at once is not easy.

"Everything will be fine now, Naina. We'll be out of this problem very soon." I said, looking at her.

"SHE'S MY WIFE!"
