A smile emerged on my face as I watched Shubman walk towards the toss area, Sikandar Raza walking alongside him.

All the best, Mannu.

After a few moments, the umpire gave the coin to Sikandar and asked him what he wanted to choose. He chose 'head' and flipped the coin.

The toss turned out into our favour, giving our team a headstart. Shubman smiled and shook Sikandar's hand before walking towards the commentator.

"We would like to bat first." He said, causing a cheer to erupt in the ground.

Even though the match was in Zimbabwe, there was a decent amount of Indian audience. It wasn't a huge amount, but decent enough to uplift the team's confidence.

Your fans cheering for you in a different country hits different.

"Shubman Bhaiya is going to open, right?" Prisha whisper-asked, looking at Jason.

Jason nodded his head and started explaining the team's composition to her, telling her about every player and their roles.

I, on the other hand, was busy looking at Shubman, who was now walking back towards his team. Right before he reached his teammates, he raised his gaze to look at me, barely for a second then resumed his warm-up.

A smile emerged on my lips, which I suppressed and turned towards Prisha and Jason.

Stop acting like a creep, Ma'am.

The next few hours passed by in a snap. It was like I blinked and it was almost 8 pm, with Shubman walking towards the felicitation rostrum to receive his 'Man of the match' award.

A warm feeling engulfed my heart as I watched him walk towards the presenter, a tiny smile adorning his lips.

His 112* runs inning was so good, that I felt like crying when I watched him perform his celebratory gesture.

He needed this, his confidence needed this.

I know, for a lot of people, Zimbabwe may not be the strongest opponents, but someone who loves cricket, should never belittle any country. We always start somewhere. At the end of the day, they're representing their country, just like us.
