"Naina."
A faint voice called for me, stirring me awake from my chasmic sleep. I let out an annoyed groan and turned the other way, attempting to distance myself from the noise.
Go away!
Just when I found myself sinking back into the comfortable bore of sleep, the voice called for me again.
"Kaddu, wake up."
I let out another complaining groan and shifted further away from the disturbing element.
That disturbing element is your husband, Ma'am.
I heard a chuckle in the background as I tried to fall back asleep.
"Kaddu, you've been napping for 4:30 hours. You need to wake up and have dinner." He said, in a warm voice.
"Sleeping. Want more." I muttered, in my drowsy state, acting like a 5 year old refusing to wake up.
But, sleep is important.
Another chuckle reverberated in the background, followed by a sound of the mattress dipping beside me.
"I ordered burger and fries." He said, in a low playful voice.
The moment I heard that statement, my eyes fluttered open, the intense lustre of drowsiness disappearing in a snap.
I turned my head to look at Shubman, and found him looking at me with a knowing smile, his knuckle pressing underneath his temple as he raised himself on his elbow.
"Salted?" I asked, sheepishly.
He chuckled and nodded.
"With a cheesy dip." He said, a gorgeous smile adorning his lips.
I extended my left hand towards his head, and started patting it jokingly.
"Good boy." I said, with a goofy grin, my mouth literally watering.
"Right at your service, Mommy." He said, adding on to my wit.
I gasped in disbelief after listening to the term and shifted the very same hand to flick his forehead gently.
"Nalayak." I muttered.
He gave me a beaming smile, absolutely unbothered by his shenanigans or my beating.
I shook my head and shifted my gaze towards the clock. I indeed slept for 4:30 hours because it was literally 10:45 pm.
"Damn!" I mumbled, looking at the time.
"I tried waking you up earlier, but the violent snorlax in you decided to slap my hand away every damn time and continue your precious sleep." He said, making me chuckle at his choice of words.
"I was tired, okay?" I said, dramatically.
"Ofcourse, you were." He said, playfully.
I gave him a goofy smile and asked, "Everyone must have already had dinner, right?"
