*I know that you're hiding something from me.*
Two hours later..
Luara
I throw my phone across the bed after calling Abel for the fifteenth time with, yet again, no answer.
This isn't how we were supposed to be spending our last month together, this wasn't how it was supposed to go.
And yet here I sat, alone and anxious over where Abel could be. Knowing how he acts when he's angry, I rock back and forth in wonder, grabbing at my hair in frustration over what I've done.
How close?
How close was I to telling Abel everything? About Damon, about his recent visits and threats he's been regularly throwing at me?
But of course, with my luck, everything spiralled out of control and here I am. I start laughing hysterically as tears start rolling down my face, clouding my vision and distorting every thing in my view.
I roughly wipe them away, as my phone starts vibrating against the sheets and I grab at it, not even bothering to look at the caller ID.
I get up off the bed and walk towards the hotel door, putting the phone up to my ear.
"Abel? I'm sorry baby, please just come back to me. Let's talk it out, okay? I promise I'll tell you everythi-"
"Oh gatora.. não se incomode." (Oh girl.. don't bother.) I immediately stop in my tracks, the unknown girls voice echoing in my brain.
"I-I'm sorry, who is this?" I lightly sniffle into the speaker, my hand tucking a few of my curls behind my ear as I listen closely. I pull my phone away from my ear for a second to make sure this is Abel's phone and his name flashed across the screen.
"You sweet sweet girl, your boyfriend isn't being very loyal right now. So I wouldn't bother," A girl's heavy brazilian accent pours through the speakers and my heart stop beating. Just for a second.
"Excuse me?" I manage to blurt out, the oxygen leaving my lungs as I clutch at my chest, praying for an escape.
Not again, not again, not again, not again.
"Do you want a picture? Or actually, even better, I'll get him to talk for you." There's shuffling on the other side and I can hear the muffled music in the background as someone finally comes to the phone.
"Hello? Who the hell is this?"
Abel.
A tear escapes and runs down my face as I start laughing and it suddenly goes silent on the other end.
"L-lua?" More tears escape and I start sobbing now, dropping my phone in my lap and covering my face in my hands.
So, so, so stupid.
Stupid for thinking he would actually stay with me.
Stupid for thinking I was enough for him and stupid for even trying.
"Luara, please wait just let me explain, I'm coming back to the hotel," My hand shakes as I pick the phone back up, ready to respond.
"Don't even try. You won't be back in time. Abel.." I sob, sniffling violently as I come to terms with that fact I've been cheated on by another man.
I was stupid for even thinking he was different.
"Don't ever contact me again. Because I won't bother listening. Because quite frankly I've had enough of your tantrums and your 'accidental' touch ups with women. I love you, I really do, but my self respect is above you disrespecting me time and time again. Goodbye."
