It's been a good 2 weeks or so, here we are!!!
"When did you say this started?" Recovery Girl asked, looking over the reports from this checkup. Surebu shrugged, looking anywhere but at the other. She hadn't wanted to get the other emotional like she had last time.
Recovery Girl sighed at this, going on a rant about how she couldn't help if Surebu won't let her. She'd planned to go on as long as she needed to make sure Surebu would tell her the information she needed to get accurate results. Surebu only sat there, slowly shrinking in on herself, curling her legs up to her chest and hugging them into her body. She hadn't wanted this...
"Capture the flag..." was the small response that came out. This caused Recovery Girl to freeze up, eyes frozen on the sheet of paper as she processed the words she'd just heard. "Actually... technically, since that hero, Hunter, was murdered..."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" Recovery Girl hadn't meant to shout, but dear lord, this child was speaking nonsense!
"I killed her."
The room was cloaked in an uncomfortable silence. Recovery Girl staring up at the younger girl with horror in her eyes, Surebu looking off to the side, tears in her eyes.
"Shigaraki wanted her dead. It was my last target before I could claim freedom and come back, but on my way back, I got stopped," Surebu mumbled out placing her cheek on her left knee, letting the tears go. "I didn't want to, and that was my punishment. They wanted my quirk. They wanted to see what they could do and they had her to fix what they broke..."
"Who?" Recovery Girl asked gently as she got up on the bed with Surebu, hoping to offer some comfort. Yet she was so horribly shocked by the next few words that came from Surebu that there wasn't much she could do.
"My little sister. Same mother, different father. She never knew, but I did. She looked just like that devil woman and had her quirk too. The scientist messed up? She could reverse it. They didn't like the results? She reversed it. Sadly, she couldn't rid me of the memories... she's only a child and they forced her to watch that..."
Surebu's arms tightened around her legs, squeezing them as if her life itself depended on it. Recovery Girl was left there, feeling helpless. The only thing she could do is sit there and listen as Surebu poured her heart out.
"They got what they wanted. They altered my quirk. Made it so I could change memories. Make them less scary, or more scary even. Something like that can have negative effects though... make my body unstable. Not something I'd planned to use, so it was fine. That was until the 1-A vs 1-B game.... Monama was so badly hurt from my memories.... I couldn't leave him like that."
"You changed the memories so he would be okay? Surebu, that was very reckless. Now look! Your organs are giving up on you!" Recovery Girl scolded, eyebrows knitting together as she glared at the floor. Yes, what Surebu did was commendable, but she might as well have signed her will right there and then.
"I know. My internal organs will slowly shut down one by one... I'll get blood clots, I'll slowly die the more it spreads, but there's no way to fix it. All I did was speed it up. It's not my fault it started," she muttered out, nails digging into her flesh through the fabric of her trousers.
Recovery Girl noticed this and let out a sigh in defeat. She held up the papers and moved them into Surebu's line of vision. The girls yellow eyes darted to the paper then away again. She wasn't THAT good at reading yet.
