The sound of something hitting the door caused everyone to turn. 1-A was once again in the waiting room, all but Surebu. They had expected her to be here, but when none of them had seen her, they assumed she was with Aizawa.
The door had opened and there stood Surebu, mask on and hood over her head. She looked tired compared to her normal self as she sluggishly shuffled into the room, closing the door behind her. She looked up at them, removing the mask only to give them a big smile.
"What did I miss?" She asked so quietly everyone had to strain their ears to hear it.
"Are you okay Surebu?" Momo had asked moving to the girls side. Surebu nodded leaning on the wall to keep herself upright. She took in a slow breath and relaxed against the wall.
"I know how to win the next round," she quietly announced sliding down the wall and resting on the floor. "I'm a little tired though so, I'm going to take a quick nap first. If Papa or brother come looking for me, I'm not here," she explained before dropping her head and letting sleep take her.
"That last fight must've taken a lot more out of her than we thought," Kirishima whispered watching the girl. She was breathing, so that was good. They all carefully watched as her chest would rise, then fall as a way to comfort the thought she'd practically fainted.
They stopped watching her for a moment to watch the next round of 2-B vs 2nd year tech support. Class 2-B had won without that much of a struggle. They were a power house and would be hard to beat. One of their classmates particularly.
All anyone saw was a cloud of purple smoke that slowly took over the field. When it finally cleared, class 2-B had already won. It never showed who's quirk gave them the smoke screen, and no other quirks were shown in use so in the end, there was no information on this team. They would be hard to beat.
"What'd I miss?" The question hovered in the room as they all looked over to the girl that was sleeping not too long ago. They could all easily tell that she was still very tired and wanted nothing more than to continue sleeping, but she pushed that feeling away none the less. She stood up slowly and steadily, still leaning on the wall the entire time. "Do I need to ask again?"
Her words snapped everyone out of their frozen state and Midoriya ran up to help Surebu to her feet. "Class 2-B just won without giving us any information on their quirks or strengths," he explained holding her up. She sighed taking the finger of her glove off and lightly smacking it into Midoriya's face and holding it there.
She let the match play through her mind, and slowly, her eyes grew wider. With a sudden burst of energy, she was tripping and rolling out the door into the hall and gone from the sight of her classmates.
She tripped and fell through the halls until she fell and landed on her face. It didn't matter how much sleep she'd gotten, her legs were still far too weak to run on. She should be resting, but her mind was running faster then she'd ever allow it. She needed answers fast.
"Surebu? What happened?" The dark haired girl looked up to see Midnight kneeling next to her, obviously worried. Surebu felt relief, finally she could get some answers.
"AUNTIE MIDNIGHT!"She shouted getting to her knees in a haste. The adult of the two was shocked by the others sudden action. "I need to ask you something," she quietened down so that her voice was nothing but a whisper.
"Well then ask," Midnight said calmly with a small smile on her face. She was happy Surebu was asking her over Aizawa or Mic for a change. Looks like this was good timing for the pro hero.
"Class 2-B, I need their names and quirks," she spoke quietly with fear in her voice. Midnight laughed a bit at this thinking Surebu only wanted a leg up on the competition, but when she looked at the girls yellow eyes to see nothing but desperation, she knew that there was something else that Surebu wasn't telling her.
"Surebu, what is it?" She asked holding the young girl by each shoulder. Surebu shook her head suddenly lightheaded. In her mind the image of a young girl with dark purple eyes popped into her mind and she felt her heart ache.
Midnight froze up as she saw the tears in Surebu's eyes make their escape. She'd started crying and Midnight had no idea why. She watched as the girl seemed to break.
"Surebu?" She asked wrapping her arms around the smaller girl not sure what else to do at a moment like this.
"I miss her," was all Surebu had uttered out of her quivering lips. Midnight took in a breath and let out a long sigh before looking down at the girl. Surebu seemed completely lost and it just broke the older of the two.
She knew she shouldn't since it could be classified as cheating, but this was obviously a lot more than a simple competitive game to the girl. She pulled the girl away and made her look into her eyes.
"Surebu, I need you to calm down," she instructed. Surebu nodded pulling her emotions back and putting them in check. When she had managed to steady her breathing, Midnight continued. "I'm going to the teachers office, I want you to follow," once again, a nod.
The two walked through the halls, completely unnoticed by anyone who walked by.
