"Please don’t escape from my vision"
Eunseok sighed wearily, popping another painkiller to alleviate the throbbing headache that had become his constant companion. Insomnia had ravaged his sleep schedule, steadily reducing his restful nights and leaving him restless.
As a village doctor, physical labor dominated his days, and the demands of rural healthcare had taken a toll. But this wasn't new. His life as a mafia member had honed his strength and resilience. Countless missions had left him battered, and sleepless nights were the norm.
But this was important, this mission was important to him. Everything related to her was important to him now.
Eunseok trudged into the sleek, modern headquarters of RIIZE, its luxurious interior a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing within him. The high-tech furniture and cutting-edge amenities seemed to whisper efficiency and innovation, but Eunseok's mind was elsewhere.
His footsteps echoed through the polished corridors as he made his way to Shotaro's office, his gaze fixed on the door ahead. A deep-seated anger simmered beneath his composed exterior, waiting to erupt.
With a swift knock, Eunseok pushed open the door and stepped into Shotaro's domain. The room exuded an air of refined sophistication, from the minimalist decor to the expansive city view.
Shotaro, seated behind his desk, looked up from his work, his expression a mask of calm curiosity.
Eunseok's deadpan gaze pinned him. "You knew it, didn't you?"
Shotaro's eyebrows arched, feigning innocence. "About what?"
Eunseok's jaw clenched, his voice low and even. "About her. You knew she works there."
The air seemed to thicken, heavy with unspoken accusations. Shotaro's expression remained neutral, but a flicker of awareness danced in his eyes.
Eunseok's face twisted in anguish, his voice laced with venom. "I can't do this anymore. I can't stand her" The words spat from his lips like a toxic confession, releasing a torrent of pent-up resentment. Shotaro's eyes narrowed, surprise etched on his face.
"You're quitting because of Jiwon?" His tone was laced with skepticism, as if questioning Eunseok's resolve. Eunseok's nod was resolute, his jaw clenched. "Every moment with her is torture. I won't endure it." The determination in his voice was unwavering, fueled by a deep-seated animosity.
Memories of Jiwon's smile, her laughter, and her tears now seemed manipulative, fueling Eunseok's contempt. Shotaro's expression turned thoughtful, his voice measured. "Understood. But consider the consequences. This mission..."
Eunseok's gaze snapped up, his eyes blazing with intensity. "I don't care. I'd rather die than work alongside her." The admission hung in the air, heavy with conviction.
"She's in danger, Eunseok."
Shotaro's voice dropped to a hushed tone, urgency lacing his words. Eunseok's gaze snapped back to Shotaro, his eyes narrowing as his mind processed the implications. He despised her, yet the thought of her in harm's way stirred a reluctant concern within him.
"What do you mean?"
Shotaro's expression turned grim, his face a mask of seriousness. "Jiwon witnessed something she shouldn't have" he explained, his words measured and deliberate. "The AGMA Group will silence her permanently."
And he wouldn't let them, he swore he won't let anyone hurt her anymore, including him.
