"Illuminate your reflection
Wavelengths that gradually overlap
dream awakens
All shining bright"

Eunseok stepped out of the shower, his hair damp and tousled from the gentle ruffling of his fingers. A towel hung loosely around his waist, his eyes sparkling with concern as he asked.

"What are you - are you crying?" His gaze shifted from confusion to concern as Jiwon entered, faint tears glistening in her eyes. Her emotional state was palpable, and Eunseok's expression transformed to reflect his worry.

Before he could process her emotions, Jiwon swiftly enveloped him in a tight embrace.

Her arms wrapped around his back, pressing his bare body against hers. Eunseok's instincts kicked in, his arms encircling her waist, holding her close as he sought reassurance. "Angel-" he began, his voice soft and soothing.

"I am so sorry," Jiwon whispered, her words muffled by his chest. Her apology was laced with vulnerability, striking a chord within Eunseok.

His heart constricted, sensing the depth of her emotions. "I am so sorry, Eunseok. I should have known" she repeated, her voice trembling. Eunseok's grip tightened, unsure of the reason behind her sorrow.

"Why are you apologizing?" he asked, genuine confusion etched on his face. Jiwon's response was a silent shake of her head, her eyes welling up with tears.

"I should have known, I should have stayed when you asked me to," she whispered, the weight of regret heavy in her words. Eunseok's expression softened, his eyes filled with empathy, as he struggled to understand the root of her apology.

Eunseok's attempt to downplay their past issues was met with resistance from Jiwon. "I thought we already sorted that out," he said, his voice gentle. "You don't need to apologize to me anymore, angel. It was my fault too."

However, Jiwon's expression remained resolute, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "No!" she exclaimed. "Even if it was both our faults, I should have known when you'd come to my house with bruises at night." Her voice trembled, weighed down by regret.

The truth finally dawned on Eunseok. "You didn't know because I played it off well, saying it was friends' fistfights," he joked, attempting to lighten the mood. But Jiwon's tears and clinging grip told him otherwise.

He sighed, embracing her tightly, and reassured her, "It's okay, angel. Maybe everything was worse until now, but it got better when I have you." Jiwon's gentle rubbing of his back soothed him, calming his nerves.

As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Jiwon made a heartfelt promise. "I'll sleep with you here tonight," she whispered, her eyes locked on his.

Eunseok's gaze dropped to hers, surprised by her suggestion. "What..." he trailed off, his voice filled with curiosity. Jiwon clarified, "I mean, I'll sleep by your side until you fall asleep." Her innocent gaze put his worries at ease.

Eunseok's expression softened, his heart swelling with affection. "Okay, angel," he whispered, his lips brushing against her forehead. In that moment, they both knew that their bond had grown stronger, forged in the fire of their shared struggles.

Four hours had passed since Jiwon and Eunseok decided to rest, lying on opposite sides of the bed. Eunseok remained still, his gaze fixed on Jiwon's peaceful face, a soft smile etched on his features.

Despite his usual insomnia, he felt an unfamiliar sense of calm wash over him. Being surrounded by Jiwon's loving presence made him feel protected and secure.

As he watched her, Eunseok's hand instinctively reached out to caress her hair, but halted as Jiwon shifted, snuggling closer to him.

She wrapped her arms around his waist, catching him off guard. Yet, sensing she was asleep, he gently encircled her with one arm, his other hand cradling her head.

In this intimate embrace, Eunseok's eyelids grew heavy, and for the first time, he felt the possibility of sleep in Jiwon's presence.

"Good night angel" His eyes drifted shut, his breathing synchronized with hers. The warmth of her body and the gentle rise and fall of her chest reassured him, lulling him into a deep slumber.

As they slept entwined, the shadows of their past began to fade, replaced by the promise of a brighter future together.
