"I was all in
Fall in I'm fallin'
Let's make memories again""I've thought about it a lot" Jiwon began, her voice laced with vulnerability. She paused, collecting her thoughts as her eyes remained downcast, avoiding Eunseok's gaze.
"And I realize I can only move forward if things improve between us. I'm not saying I completely forgive you, Eunseok. You hurt me, and those years of loneliness are hard to erase. The memories still linger, a constant reminder of what we once had and what was lost."
Her hands trembled slightly as she continued, her words barely above a whisper.
"But that doesn't mean I've forgotten about you entirely. There were times when I missed your presence terribly. Late nights, empty rooms, and hollow silence - all reminders of your absence."
Jiwon's voice cracked, but she pressed on, driven by a longing for closure."My mother always taught me to forgive others" she said, her words laced with a mix of sadness and determination. "And I'm tired of holding onto this pain. I want to end this cycle of hurt and anger. I want to heal, to move forward, and to find peace."
Jiwon's eyes remained fixed on the floor, her shoulders sagging under the weight of her emotions.
Eunseok listened intently, his eyes locked onto Jiwon's downturned face. His expression reflected a mix of hope and remorse, his heart heavy with the weight of his past mistakes.
"I'm consumed by regret, angel" Eunseok whispered, his voice trembling with emotion.
"I'm so sorry for everything you had endured because of me. My past actions suffocate me, and I can't breathe thinking about the pain I caused. If I could i would definitely change the past but shits happened and i messed up everything we had"His eyes locked onto hers, brimming with sincerity, pleading for forgiveness.
"But I promise you, angel, I promise that I'll never repeat the same mistake" he vowed, his words pouring out like a solemn oath.
"I'll protect you from every harm, including my own. You deserve the world, and I'll ensure you have it. Heck i don't even deserve this yet i am so sorry for being selfish like this jiwon but I need you, you was and will always be my only priority. I was blind, blind enough to not to see your struggles but I swear i'll try to improve myself for you"
His hands tightened around hers, his touch warm and reassuring."Thank you," he continued, his voice filled with gratitude. "Thank you for giving me another chance, for giving us another chance. You'll never regret this, I swear" Eunseok's face radiated hope, his eyes shining with determination.
Jiwon's heart swelled, her defenses crumbling under the weight of Eunseok's words. His sincerity resonated deep within her, awakening a glimmer of hope.
"So now we're back together?"
"Yes"
"Bestfriends?"
"Always been"As they stood there, hands still clasped, Jiwon and Eunseok exchanged uncertain glances. The phrase "best friends" hung awkwardly in the air, a label they'd once worn with ease but now felt forced.
Their past experiences had altered the fabric of their relationship, leaving it changed, yet undefined. The comfort and familiarity that once characterized their friendship now seemed tainted by the complexities of their history.
"We're not really best friends, are we?"
Jiwon asked, her voice tinged with hesitation. Her eyes probed Eunseok's, seeking clarity on the ambiguous terrain they now navigated. Eunseok's expression mirrored her uncertainty, his brow furrowed in contemplation.
"I don't know" he admitted, his voice laced with candor. "We've been through too much. Our connection is different now."
The depth of their emotions, once effortlessly shared, now seemed veiled, obscured by the shadows of their tumultuous past. Their gazes lingered, the silence thick with unspoken emotions, as they grappled with the reality of their transformed relationship.
"How about giving eachother time till we figure it out?"
"I think that's a great idea" Eunseok replied, his expression reflecting a mix of relief and understanding. Giving each other time was a necessary step, a chance to unravel the tangled emotions that had accumulated over the years.
"We've both been through a lot," he continued. "Some space will help us figure out what we want, what we need, and where we're headed." His eyes never left Jiwon's, his gaze conveying a deep sincerity.
Jiwon nodded, her eyes still locked on his, her face a picture of resolve. "Yeah, no pressure, no expectations. Just time to think, to reflect, and to rediscover ourselves."
The weight of their unresolved issues still lingered, but with this decision, they were taking the first steps towards healing. "I need to focus on myself," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need to learn to let go, to forgive, and to move forward."
Eunseok's hands slipped from hers, but his gaze remained connected, a silent promise to respect her boundaries.
"I'll give you all the time you need, angel" he vowed. "And I hope you'll do the same for me. We'll take things one day at a time, no rush, no stress." The silence that followed was no longer tense, but rather a gentle acknowledgment of their mutual decision, a shared understanding that their journey towards healing had begun.
Now the angst is completed let me move onto "the mask boy" 😭
