Taehyung whined, "Seriously, hyung!"
"Seriously, Taehyung." Namjoon grinned as he dragged his younger brother along.
While...
Jungkook was sprawled on his bed, phone in hand, talking to Hoseok.
"So, what are you gonna do, Mr. Brat?" Hoseok asked, voice tinged with amusement.
Jungkook clicked his tongue and grinned mischievously.
"First, I'm gonna say I don't want this marriage. I'll make it crystal clear that they better say no. And if the guy turns out to have loose brain cells, I'm going to turn his life into hell. The plan is simple-"
Hoseok interrupted with a tired sigh, "The description of an abusive husband from the fanfictions you read isn't really gonna help you here, Kook."
Jungkook's proud grin vanished instantly, and he scoffed, muttering under his breath, "Whatever."
The scene shifted to the entrance of Jungkook's home, where his parents, Jongmin and Lisa, stood with charming smiles as they greeted the guests.
Mr. Kim and his son, Namjoon, had just arrived. The atmosphere was formal, but there was a sense of warmth as old business partners met.
"Welcome, Mr. Kim." Jongmin greeted, extending his hand.
"Thank you, Jongmin. It's good to see you," Taejoon, Mr. Kim, replied with a smile as they shook hands. Lisa greeted them with her own welcoming smile.
"This is my son, Namjoon," Taejoon introduced proudly. "He got married just last month."
Jongmin nodded, impressed. "Congratulations."
Taejoon's voice grew softer as he continued, "Now, I'm looking for a groom for my younger son too. I'd like to get this duty out of the way, you know. Plus, I want to live with the comfort of knowing my sons are happy."
Though unsaid, the knowledge of Taejoon's illness hung in the air, making his words heavier. His desire to see his younger son, Taehyung, settled was more urgent than just tradition.
Jongmin glanced at his wife, who offered a gentle nod of encouragement, before turning back to Taejoon.
"I understand. I think we're both in agreement that this match would be beneficial, for both families. You know I've always respected your business, Taejoon."
Taejoon smiled appreciatively.
"The feeling is mutual. I believe Taehyung will make an excellent match for your Jungkook."
"We're all excited about this union. Jungkook may be a bit stubborn, but I believe he'll come around." Lisa chimed in with a warm laugh.
They continued to exchange pleasantries, the conversation turning toward business and family, formalities that masked the gravity of the arrangement.
Taejoon's pride in his sons was clear, but there was an undercurrent of urgency.
Jongmin, on the other hand, was driven by a desire for a business merger with the Kim family, believing that Taehyung, the CEO of Kim Tech, was the best possible match for his son.
Neither of them would settle for less than what they wanted: a perfect alliance for their children and their companies.
Lisa raised an eyebrow, realizing someone was missing.
"Where is Taehyung, by the way?"
Taejoon sighed playfully, waving his hand in mock frustration.
"Oh, he's coming. He had to attend a call-businessman things, you know." His groan of fake irritation earned a round of soft chuckles from everyone.
