The atmosphere in the grand hall was filled with anticipation.
Jungkook and Taehyung stood at the altar, both looking striking in matching suits—deep shades of navy blue, handpicked by their parents. Yet, despite the grandness of the occasion, a thick layer of playful annoyance hung between them.
Jungkook's dark eyes narrowed into a glare aimed directly at Taehyung, silently daring him to back out while he still had the chance.
"If you have any sense left, you'll call it quits now," Jungkook's eyes seemed to say, but Taehyung? He simply flashed a teasing smirk, completely unfazed.
The crowd watched with admiration, interpreting the tension between the two as a mixture of nerves and excitement for the big day.
Little did they know, this was nothing but the younger's stubborn defiance clashing against Taehyung's relentless amusement.
The officiant finally spoke, "Now, if there are no objections, let us proceed to the vows." And he started saying his oh so dramatic, yet to be said, line.
Taehyung stepped forward, looking ever so calm.
“I do,” he said smoothly, his voice carrying a weight that only Jungkook could feel, like he was daring Jungkook to play along.
Jungkook cleared his throat, not breaking eye contact as he shot Taehyung another glare before uttering on his turn, “I do.”
It sounded more like a threat than a vow, but the audience clapped warmly.
“And now,” the officiant smiled broadly, “you may kiss each other.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief. Kiss?! His head snapped to Taehyung, whose face displayed nothing but amusement, clearly enjoying every second of Jungkook's shock.
“I swear, try kissing me and I’ll murder you right here, at the altar itself,” Jungkook hissed through his clenched teeth, a fake smile plastered on his face to make sure the others around them couldn’t hear their conversation.
Taehyung, with that ever-present smirk, leaned in slightly.
"Such lovely first words to say as husbands, bun. But I must say, I truly fear this good death."
Jungkook clenched his jaw tighter, fuming at the shameless audacity of this man—his now husband.
The audience was waiting—some even leaning forward in their seats, eager to witness the symbolic kiss. With all eyes on them, Jungkook was running out of options. He stole a glance at their families, who were practically glowing with pride.
“Get it over with!” Jungkook muttered, feeling the weight of the situation crushing his rebellious spirit.
Taehyung's eyes sparkled with mischief.
“As you wish, husband.”
Without further ado, Taehyung leaned in and—swift as ever—kissed the corner of Jungkook's lips, just enough to make it seem like a proper kiss to the onlookers. The audience erupted in applause, assuming the act to be a genuine, albeit modest, display of affection.
Jungkook, meanwhile, stood frozen, still processing what had just happened. That... cheeky bastard.
As they pulled apart, Taehyung chuckled under his breath.
“You look so cute when you're trying to be angry, Jungkookie.”
Jungkook shot him a warning glance.
“Don’t push your luck, Taehyung.”
But despite the younger’s warning, Taehyung was clearly enjoying himself.
