The next morning, the sun’s first rays spilled gently into the grand bedroom, casting a soft glow on the space. Taehyung stirred awake, his eyes blinking as they adjusted to the morning light. He stretched, his mind already moving towards the tasks of the day. As the CEO of Kim Tech, his schedule was demanding, but for a fleeting moment, he allowed himself the luxury of a lazy stretch in bed.
His eyes landed on Jungkook, who was still fast asleep on the opposite side of the bed.
A soft sigh escaped Taehyung's lips, recalling the mini-tantrum his husband had thrown last night.
Jungkook had dramatically declared that sharing a bed was offensive, crossing his arms and glaring like an indignant child. But after a playful back-and-forth and a few sly remarks from Taehyung, the brat had reluctantly agreed.
Though, true to form, Jungkook made sure to position himself at a safe distance, as if the gap would protect his pride.Taehyung chuckled softly at the memory before slipping out of bed quietly. He padded across the cool marble floor and entered the bathroom to get ready for the day.
After a quick but efficient shower, Taehyung stepped out, water droplets still clinging to his skin as he reached for a plush towel. His movements were smooth and practiced as he dressed himself in a tailored navy-blue suit, his tie perfectly knotted, and his hair combed neatly into place. He looked every bit the powerful CEO, though his mind was still partially stuck on the adorable sight of Jungkook grumbling himself to sleep last night.
As he emerged from the bathroom, his gaze drifted back to the bed where his husband remained—still sprawled out, face buried in the pillow, completely dead to the world.
Taehyung couldn’t help the fond smile that tugged at his lips. Still sleeping like a rock... this boy.
With a quiet sigh, he approached the bed, crouching down beside the slumbering Jungkook. He gently shook the younger’s shoulder, attempting to wake him up.
"Jungkook-ah, it's morning. Wake up," Taehyung whispered, his voice soft yet commanding.
Jungkook barely stirred. His only response was a low mumble and an unconscious burrow further into the covers.
Taehyung tried again, this time a bit more firmly. "Kook, come on. I need to head to work, and you should eat breakfast."
Still nothing. Jungkook was dead asleep, completely unbothered by Taehyung’s attempts. The younger was always been a deep sleeper, but this, this was on a whole new level.
With a resigned sigh, Taehyung gave up for the moment, leaving Jungkook to his peaceful slumber.
He decided to head downstairs and take care of breakfast. Since the mansion was newly assigned to them as a wedding gift, the servants and staff hadn’t been fully arranged yet.
That meant, for now, Taehyung would have to manage on his own.
He moved gracefully through the kitchen, preparing a simple yet hearty breakfast.
The soft clinking of utensils and the warm smell of eggs and toast filled the kitchen as he efficiently worked his way through the meal.
Satisfied, he plated the food and set a portion aside for Jungkook, just in case the younger finally decided to wake up. Taehyung was about to head upstairs to attempt waking his husband one last time when he paused for a moment, considering the silence in the house.
Is he still sleeping...? Taehyung wondered.
But upstairs, unbeknownst to Taehyung, Jungkook had been playing a little game of his own.....
The second the older left the room, Jungkook cracked open one eye, a mischievous grin curling on his lips as he listened to Taehyung’s footsteps fade down the hallway.
When he was sure the coast was clear, Jungkook quickly threw the blankets off and jumped out of bed, doing a little celebratory dance in the middle of the room. His arms pumped in victory as he wiggled his hips, a smug look on his face.
“Got him,” he whispered to himself, a self-satisfied grin stretching wide. He had been pretending to sleep the whole time, waiting for Taehyung to leave him in peace.
The brat had managed to win this round, avoiding being dragged out of bed by his persistent husband. His little act had worked perfectly.Jungkook twirled on his toes, his light dance turning into a victory shuffle around the room, his earlier grumpiness from the night before long forgotten. The fact that Taehyung thought he could make him get up on time? That was cute.
Not everytime, Taehyung. Not everytimeyou will win.
His mini-celebration continued for a few more seconds until Jungkook eventually flopped back onto the bed with a content sigh. He had earned himself a few more minutes of sleep, and he was going to enjoy them to the fullest.
Little did he know that his victory was short-lived.
A few minutes later, Taehyung appeared at the door again.
There Jungkook was, still fast asleep. Taehyung's brow twitched with mild disbelief.
“This boy...” Taehyung muttered, clicking his tongue in slight frustration. He approached the bed once more, trying one final time to wake Jungkook.
This time, he leaned in a little closer, speaking directly into the younger's ear, "Jungkook-ah, if you don’t wake up, I’ll tell the whole office you cuddled with me last night."
That earned a reaction. Jungkook groaned but still refused to open his eyes, turning his back toward Taehyung in what could only be described as a childish move.
Taehyung sighed again, this time more tired than amused.
"Fine, sleep all you want. But when you wake up, don’t complain about being hungry." He reached for the notepad on the bedside table and quickly scribbled a note, leaving it where Jungkook would easily spot it once he finally decided to get up.
The note read:
I made breakfast. It’s in the kitchen. Don’t sleep the whole day. We’re supposed to be adults now, remember? With one last glance at the peaceful—yet annoyingly stubborn—Jungkook, Taehyung left the room, his shoes clicking softly against the floor as he headed out the door and into his busy CEO life.
Though as he closed the door behind him, he couldn’t help but smile to himself.
His bratty husband certainly knew how to keep things interesting.
