Taehyung and Jungkook lay side by side in the grand guest bedroom of the Kim mansion, the soft glow of moonlight filtering through the curtains.
A pillow lay between them like a boundary, just as it had the previous night. It was a small tantrum from Jungkook, who wasn’t yet comfortable sharing space with his newlywed husband. However, in the dead of night, Taehyung knew, it would be aways Jungkook who will end up unintentionally cuddling him like last night, despite his initial protests.
Both of them stared up at the ceiling in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Neither of them was asleep, and the quiet was heavy with unspoken words.
Out of nowhere, Jungkook shifted.
And before Taehyung could react, Jungkook straddled him, sitting squarely on his stomach. Taehyung groaned loudly at the unexpected weight pressing down on him, the impact knocking the air out of his lungs.
“What the—what the fuck?!” Taehyung hissed, his voice low but filled with annoyance. He glanced down to see Jungkook sitting on him with a mischievous grin.
Jungkook giggled, clearly pleased with himself.
“Relax, old man.” He smirked, his playful nature showing through. “Remember what I told you before our wedding?”
Taehyung’s eyes narrowed in confusion, but as the younger man stared down at him with that same mischievous twinkle, the memory hit him like a flash.
Taehyung gulped as the memory played out in his head. A mischievous smirk now rested on Jungkook’s face, illuminated by the moonlight. His breath caught in his throat as he wondered what the younger man was planning.
Jungkook leaned forward, his face hovering dangerously close to Taehyung’s.
“So?”
“So what?” Taehyung asked cautiously, his voice betraying his nerves.
Jungkook’s grin widened.
“You’re going to regret marrying me.”
Taehyung’s brow furrowed, his heart pounding in his chest.
“Jungkook, what are you—”
“Be ready, Kim,” Jungkook interrupted, his tone teasing and playful. “This courting trip? It’s going to be the most memorable trip of your life.”
Taehyung sighed, a mix of exasperation and amusement washing over him. “You’re going to make this difficult, aren’t you?”
Jungkook chuckled softly, shifting slightly on top of him.
“Difficult? Oh, I’m going to make it impossible, Mr. Kim.”
Taehyung groaned, rubbing his hands over his face. “You’re unbelievable, you know that?”
“I know,” Jungkook replied smugly.
He stayed on top of Taehyung for a moment longer, clearly enjoying the way he had riled up the older man. Then, with a satisfied grin, he finally rolled off him and lay back down on his side of the bed.
Taehyung remained frozen in place for a few moments, staring up at the ceiling in disbelief. Jungkook had a way of pushing all the right buttons, and despite the exasperation, Taehyung couldn’t help but find the younger man’s antics endearing.
As the night went on, the two of them eventually settled into a more comfortable silence. Even though they were still adjusting to each other, the playful bickering made the situation feel just a little more bearable.

The next morning, they were packed and ready to leave for their "courting trip" to Jeju, courtesy of Taejoon’s insistence. As they boarded the flight, Taehyung glanced at Jungkook, who looked far too excited for someone about to go on an awkward honeymoon. And he should have not taken that for granted.
