Jungkook had been buzzing with excitement ever since Taehyung mentioned taking him somewhere special. He had spent the entire car ride throwing out wild guesses, each one more ridiculous than the last.

"Are we going on a vacation to a private island? A hidden luxury resort? A secret underground casino? Oh! Are you taking me to a place where rich CEOs have illegal fight clubs?"

Taehyung, who had been effortlessly maneuvering the steering wheel with one hand, let out an amused huff. "You've been watching too many dramas."

Jungkook pouted but continued. "Okay, okay, what about a super fancy rooftop restaurant with a personal orchestra? Or..." He gasped dramatically. "Are we going to space?"

Taehyung snorted, shaking his head. "You are way too excited for this."

"Of course, I am! You never took me anywhere except our 'bonding trip'. Going to business events and meetings where I have to pretend to be interested in investment portfolios and mergers was boring since childhood, I can expect a lil from you I suppose."

"You could actually be interested in the business parties, they are amazing," Taehyung quipped.

Jungkook made a gagging sound. "Yeah, no thanks."

He turned to the window, watching the scenery shift as Taehyung drove them farther out of the city. The skyscrapers faded, replaced by a more secluded area with wide-open spaces. Jungkook was practically vibrating with curiosity, bouncing slightly in his seat.

Then the car slowed to a stop.

Jungkook eagerly looked out the window, eyes sparkling with anticipation—

And promptly blinked.

Then blinked again.

Because instead of a luxurious getaway or some secret billionaire hideout…

They were at a shooting range.

Jungkook turned to Taehyung, mouth slightly open. "This is... the surprise?"

Taehyung unbuckled his seatbelt with a calm nod. "Yup."

"...You brought me to a place where people shoot things?"

"It's not just 'shooting things'." Taehyung stepped out of the car, leaving Jungkook staring in mild betrayal.

Jungkook sat there for a moment before huffing and getting out as well. He crossed his arms. "I was expecting something romantic. You know, candles, flowers, maybe a cozy little picnic under the stars. But nooo, we're here to commit murder on poor paper targets."

Taehyung chuckled, placing a hand on Jungkook’s lower back as he guided him inside. "Don't be so dramatic. Shooting is a skill, and I figured it's time you learn."

"Oh wow, what a loving husband you are," Jungkook grumbled, rolling his eyes. "Nothing screams romance like handing me a gun."

Inside, the shooting range had a professional yet slightly rustic vibe, with various people aiming at their respective targets. Taehyung led Jungkook toward a private lane, setting down a sleek black gun case on the counter.

Jungkook eyed it warily. "So, are we here because you secretly think I need protection skills?"

Taehyung smirked. "Maybe. You do have a habit of attracting trouble."

Jungkook scoffed. "Rude. I do not."

"Jungkook," Taehyung deadpanned, "you got kidnapped."

"That was one time!" Jungkook whined. "And I escaped!"
