Isha sat in front of the mirror, looking at her reflection. She was nervous; many people were coming to see her, and it felt like she was about to attend a viva or something. A knock was heard, and she asked the person to come in.

The door opened, and Ishita entered the room with her usual stoic face. They had met when her boss left her here and went to Rudransh, saying, "I don't want you to go there and ruin your mood, darling."

They had just introduced each other, but when names were revealed, it became more interesting, and Ishaan, Ishita, and Isha—the trio—sat and talked. Well, Ishaan talked.

"They are calling you downstairs. Badi Rani sa had to bring something from her room, so she and Miss Jahnvi went there. They'll meet us on the way," Ishita's neutral voice spoke, and Isha nodded, standing up.

She adjusted her chunri on her head and checked herself in the mirror. She had to get ready and wear the heavy jewelry. Her face was adorned with minimal makeup but pretty jewels. She stood up and left the room, her steps echoing with the anklets that Rudransh had given her.

They were walking and met both Maya and Jahnvi on the way. Isha was praised excessively by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and all she could do was gulp and give an awkward smile. Of course, what introvert in the world knows how to handle compliments?

They descended the stairs and reached the ground floor, where Isha was seated on a large couch. Many guests were already seated in the room. Women from various wealthy families sat, dressed in designer clothes and expensive jewelry. Some wore expressions of arrogance, while others were polite and friendly.

Kavya sat to the side, fuming at not being able to take over the situation. Her plan to make her friend's life miserable had failed, and now she had only one person who could help her.

One by one, women began approaching Isha, and Maya sat beside her the whole time, smiling like a child who had just received a beloved new teddy bear and was proudly showing it off to her friends. Though Isha was nervous, Maya's presence eased some of the tension.

She was waiting for someone to arrive. Why, she didn't know, but he had told her he'd be home soon, and now it was 8, and he still hadn't arrived. Sounds of cars outside the palace reached her ears, making her heartbeat quicken in anticipation.

Footsteps echoed, and Isha looked up to see a man in his late forties strolling inside. Kavya ran and hugged the man tightly, burying her face in his chest while he tried to calm her down.

"DAD!!" she cried, and he gently patted her back, trying to soothe her. He looked around and spoke softly to his daughter, who reluctantly nodded and let him go.

He turned to face them and folded his hands. "Namaste, Badi Rani sa," he greeted, his voice polite and soft. He seemed to hold Maya in high regard and came across as a kind man.

Maya smiled and placed her hand on the small of Isha's back, nudging her forward slightly.

"This is my daughter-in-law, your new Rani sa, Mr. Ahuja," Maya said lightly, but Isha sensed something amiss. The guests knew that Mrs. Ahuja and Mrs. Rajput had been close friends and had even speculated that their children would marry, but things had turned out differently.

Mr. Rajveer Ahuja gave a respectful bow and greeted Isha with folded hands. "Pranam, Rani sa." Isha smiled, but only she knew how much effort it took not to give a more awkward smile that would have made her the laughing stock.
